Not shocking if Tyson used coke the day of a fight, especially in his late career run where he either got an early KO or did something crazy.
Sweet Pea and Pryor seemed clean during fights based on their performances. They did use outside the ring and it did shorten their primes, but during their actual fights they showed top level physical and mental conditioning. A guy who is desperate for another line can't fight a high concentration fight for 12-15 rounds.
Tony Galento apparently fought drunk several times, so fighting intoxicated is possible. But Galento had a mindset similar to past-prime Tyson, vicious and powerful but also fouling when things weren't going his way. He didn't have 15 round stamina and he wasn't elite level.
Having said all that, we've seen some mismatches in recent years where the winner probably could've been on drugs and still won. How many lines would Fury have to do in order to lose to Chisora? He could take LSD and still win.
