Other side of the coin, if Plant beats Benevidez then a Canelo fight puts 2x the money in his pocket.

Time of the offer he had almost 3 months more then enough time to get ready. No injuries coming off a cream puff stay busy fight he is young in his 20's why does he need all this rest?
It doesn’t matter who is put before you, you train as if you gonna fight Mayweather or Mike Tyson. You don’t cut corners just because you have a bum in front of you but give it your all. This is where upsets come in where people took another fighter for granted. What team Canelo could have done is pay step aside money if it wasn’t a mandatory not sign someone who has another fight coming. This was deliberate, they knew who they wanted. They are training for him right now and the guy hasn’t signed.

It's strange to say that they will never offer him a fight again. What if Plant continues to win?

“I’m not Andy Ruiz, who’s not a world champion and is dieing to get his spot solidified and take a fight on short notice. I’m a world champion who’s defended my title twice. I’m a world class fighter, and that demands respect. The thing is, they haven’t even sent me an offer. That’s the most important part … A secondary guy reached out to a secondary guy I know. That’s not a legitimate offer.”
Those were title defenses? I thought they were sparring sessions.

Still doesn’t obligate team canelo to offer him a fight... regardless if he continues to win or not... but he gonna lose as soon as he fights Benavidez so... his dumbass lost millions because he wants to rest

Ruiz did it with less time and beat Joshua and Canelo did the same turnaround after beating GGG to fight Fielding. Almost 3 months from 1 fight to the next is not unheard of. Especially when you are young and coming off non competitive fights. Fighters used to fight routinely 5 times a year at world class level. lol Definitely not strange for a 1 off when you are coming of a cupcake stay busy mismatch and have a shot at the biggest fighter in your sport. If you need more then 3 months to rest when you haven't fought a live opponent?

Still in the quest to find a opponent for May 2 date.

If Caleb Plant is still improving and winning, especially If he win against Benavidez, he going to get another offer.
