That's the thing to. Was there a legit offer sent to Plant's manager from Goldenboy? If all these PBC fighters are aligned with Al Haymon and he is indeed their manager why does it seem promoters won't go straight to Al to make the fight? Why try to go through a secondary guy or every avenue to avoid the person who is going to get the fight made.

We talk all the time on this site about how much influence Al has on these guys, whether it's to their benefit or detriment, so we all know who these promoters need to go through when it is all said and done.

and is a different excuse then he gave at his own post fight press conference where he never said it wasn't a legitimate offer and cited that his team got the offer and he himself said he wouldn't take it because he didn't have enough time to rest lol Now he says well they didn't give me a legitimate offer only after he received public backlash from ducking the fight. He already admitted my team told them no (Golden Boy has also confirmed they were told no by Plant's representation) and after he told the world no I won't take it why would Golden Boy move on and send a official contract offer when you verbally turned down the offer?

If the issue was I want a written contract offer his team would of told Golden Boy send offer to Haymon and he would of told the press I'll take the fight we waiting on a written offer. His team could of forwarded the offer to Haymon and told him to contact Golden Boy. This is second excuse for a fight he and his team admit they turned down. It's not Haymon needs to be involved or offer needed to be written they didn't want it.

I'm not sure why De La Hoya is saying that if Plant doesn't fight Canelo now, he'll never get offered the fight again in the future.

If Plant keeps winning, it would seems strange to not offer him the fight again out of spite.

Team canelo are in a position to be able to pick who they want to fight, so technically, they can do just that and never offer plant another shot. What’s strange?

just dont understand. out of all the fighters, i think plant give canelo the most fits. i dont like knocking fighters for wanting to get compensated, but if you a fighter making 1 or 2 mil a fight, then get offer 8mil for canelo, and you want 10?! thats wild, turning down an offer that pays you 4 or 5 times you highest payday plus all the clout if beat nelo. those paydays dont come often, hope he made the right decision and hope the match up does get made eventually.

I don't understand Plant. His team was offered the fight by golden boy they team turned them down privately. It leaked and he himself admitted he got it and again but now publicly turned it down saying he can't be ready in time? Now he's saying well after all that why didn't they send me a official offer? If you admit your team turned the fight down and there is video of you telling Golden Boy and the entire world you are turning down the opportunity why would they continue considering you let alone send you a what offer sheet to sign? You know Canelo fights in May and you took yourself out of the running so they moved on you don't send a faxed contract when someone has already verbally turned down the offer.

I think DAZN’s announcement for May (opening around the world) has a lot to do with the postponement for Canelo’s opponent. It’s actually huge news and it affects the global buys for May around the world. Something big about to go down. We’re talking about a new phase in metrics unheard of.

He's just fought a guy I have never heard of and have never seen in any rankings in a non competitive mismatch where he suffered no injuries. He would of had almost 3 months to prepare. How is that not enough time to train and be ready? What rest does he need from a non competitive fight and he's young? Sounds like his team didn't think he couldn't beat Canelo and left him hanging so he himself had to come up with a public excuse on the fly. He's getting backlash for ducking the fight and a pretty laughable excuse.

Name one current champion that’s doing a turn around that fast. Kovalev did it and look what it got him.
