Why do people act like this heavyweight era isn’t a great one?

I didnt even agree with the other guy initially and still dont, but you've almost strengthened his argument with this....How the hell you gonna compare the 2X heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs to freaking Dillian Whyte and Michael Hunter?
Briggs beat:
George Foreman (reigning lineal champ)
Ray Mercer (former WBO champ)
Siarhei Liakhovich (reigning WBO champ)
Drew:
Francois Botha
Went 12 against:
Vitali Klitschko (reigning WBC champ; Briggs tore a biceps and tendon in round 1)
Sultan Ibragimov (lost WBO title)
And stepped in there against prime Lennox Lewis.
And in 2015, Lennox Lewis told The Ring that of all his opponents, Shannon Briggs had the best punch and the fastest hands.
Complete lack of respect for the Cannon.
Let's Go Champ!
Beating 48 year old Foreman, 44 year old Mercer, drawing with Botha, simply surviving against Vitali and shaking Lennox up a bit (which in turn caused him to turn up the volume and finish the fight in 5)......I mean, its not THAT great is it?Comment

It doesn't make him Evander Holyfield, it just makes him in a different category than your average contender right now like Whyte or Chisora like this guy is comparing him to.I didnt even agree with the other guy initially and still dont, but you've almost strengthened his argument with this....

He stepped in there with 7 guys who won a world heavyweight title and went 3-3-1. He went 12 with Vitali with one arm and he beat two reigning champs.
Dillian Whyte is 1-1 (questionable win over Parker, KO loss vs Joshua)
Chisora is 0-4 (Fury twice, Haye, Vitali)Comment

As An american i can admit that some of this is true. Remember thou the money to be made is in America... Once fights hosted internationally CONSISTENTLY are more lucrative then in America then a US centric boxing following is still the standard.Reason its considered weak on here is because all 4 belts are held by UK fighters, if Joshua and Fury were American they would be saying we are in a golden era of heavyweight boxing. Same way 147 is considered the best because American fighters are the dominant force in the division. Its always been that way, a division is weak or 'not what it was' if its best fighters are European. In my opinion the heavy weight division is the most exciting in boxing at the moment, by quite a distance.Comment

Fury. He’s a two time lineal champion. Everyone else has fought each other and lost.
