A prime Roy Jones was being outboxed by average Montell Griffin until Roy slugged him while he was down and was disqualified in round 9, up until that point Jones had been outlanded 141-113.
And we all know what happened against Tarver.

Roy Jones never said ‘I’d beat Tyson Fury in my prime at heavyweight’
What does his first fight with Griffin have to do with what he actually said?
Fury was an underdog in all 3 fights against Wilder and Klitschko, and he beat both of them convincingly.
Yes the first fight was close but most still thought he won clearly, and that was after a ******* fuelled retirement where he battled depression and massive weight gain.
I'm sure many will still not give Fury credit even if he beats AJ.
Haters gonna hate.
I don’t get why people are attacking Roy, he’s not wrong.
Fury’s resume still lacks depth but his top wins are still very impressive to me especially the Wlad victory, I’ve never rated Wilder but the tactics that Fury employed to destroy him were a thing of beauty and evidence of Fury’s incredible boxing IQ.
And finally people are going to start being honest about Wilder’s record, been saying once he lost that suddenly those 40 odd journeymen knockouts wouldn’t look so great. Now it’s “who did he knockout” whereas before it was “he’s knocked out everyone he has fought” and “41 knockouts in 43 fights”.

Why do you think Wilder is this deluded? He obviously got it from some of his fans.
Don't make me fkin laugh claiming Fury is an all-time great, even his immediate previous generation there was a fighter that would kick his a$$, Lennox Lewis. Prime, motivated WK would beat too.
The reason he looked great against Wilder is because Wilder can't really fight or defend. The full swing punch to the side of Wilder's head in the 3rd also helped Fury, as after that it was punching practice against someone out on their feet.
The thing with this era is it is weak. AJ is not amazing either.
Lastly, you don't put a convicted drugs cheat like Fury in any all-time list.

Yes his fans helped fuel his extreme delusion, from what I’ve seen Wilder was very accessible to a certain group of YouTube boxing channels, you know the type of channels I’m talking about. I know I’ve heard snippets of interviews and let’s just say reality and truth weren’t the order of the day.
These channels would brown nose him so hard, “you da hardest hitter ever” ..... “all da other HWs don’t wanna fight you”. Wilder would’ve eaten it all up being the deluded yes man lover that he is.
Same thing that PBC members would have probably told him too. If you listen to post fight interviews from guys like Errol Spence, he said Fury and Wilder are “1-1” so the trilogy will decide who is better. Like seriously how are they 1-1 when the first fight was a controversial draw, these guys are not in touch with reality and if Wilder is surrounded by them then why would he be anything other than a deluded fool.
