I don't begrudge Fury for this win, but fans are going to get he wrong impression, just like David Haye does here. This loss had nothing to do with Wilder because he actually only got to fight for 1 round--a round he won.

Early in the second round, Fury landed a right hand behind the ear and by sheer coincidence it ruptured Wilder's eardrum. From that point, he was no longer a fighter, almost no one could be. With a ruptured eardrum, he has no balance, little to no hearing, and pain that feels like an ice pick being driven through your brain.

I've seen the effects of ruptured eardrums first hand, and most men can't even stay conscious because of the pain and vertigo. So yes, Fury ruptured an eardrum with a lucky punch, but the fight was over in that instant.

If anything, the fact that Wilder managed to survive for 6 rounds like that proves that Fury's power was laughable. Even an amateur should be able to immediately finish an opponent in such a state.

Haye made a very intelligent comment. Haye has been smart from the getgo, he has taken a role in boxing where he does not get hit in the head, etc.

Wilder's situation is very simple, and a lot of us here who like the old timers, often are misunderstood, with regard to guys like Wilder. Lets make no mistake about it...Fury may be big, but he was taught how to box since he could walk, like Floyd Mayweather... Fury has a toolbox. He has options, and can do so many things in the ring.

There was a time in boxing when men had be able to do certain things, or, they would never get a chance to fight the good guys, because they would get exposed. For the record? Sugar Ray Robinson could knock people out going backwards...that is a whole other kettle of fish. But most guys knew how to use the back leg, how to move defensively.

Wilder is no exception in his lack of a toolbox. It just speaks volumes that he was able to get so far... I mean he is a great puncher and he has a real iron will. He would just do himself a favor to try to develop defensive capabilities that will serve him well, because we have some guys with skills coming up the pike! Guys like Alexander Usyk, for example.

guys have to learn how to box, to do all the things that you need to have in the ring... Fury was taught that way. If you watch Fury fight his weight distribution changed dramatically for the way he punched this fight. He was much more on his front leg as he let his jab and power hand go. He knew how to make that adjustment. Most skilled fighters of old could avoid a one handed fighter...

The guy Deontay reminds me the most of is Max Baer. Max also had a crazy powerful right that won him some championships. Like wilder, Baer had a heart and a sense of humor. Baer was rumored to have decided not to use his punch as often for fear of killing again. both Baer and Wilder had similar builds, with great big shoulders. History often does repeat itself and both men had success in the ring to a degree.

Maybe someday Aj and wilder will still fight . Wilder is 34 now though and I am not sure how he will bounce back from this beating. I think he should take a tune up fight to get his confidence back, fury and Aj square off and maybe wilder face the winner. I also think Dan Dubois is the future of the HW division. I think fury beats Aj . What is your thoughts on that potential fight ?
He stops AJ and I thought I would never ever say that.
