Comments Thread For: Haye: Deontay Wilder's Biggest Downfall is His Biggest Weapon

Former two division world champion David Haye was blown away by the performance from Tyson Fury, who stopped Deontay Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch to win the WBC world title. Haye and Fury were scheduled to fight each other on two occasions several years ago, with Haye pulling out both times due to injury.

Fury was so impressive and is arguably the best heavyweight since Lennox Lewis. Wilder was exposed in not fighting that we'll backwards, and whether he had a bad leg injury or not coming into the fight, Fury would've won anyway. Fury switched tactics, and went aggressive in the rematch, as Canelo did against GGG and was successful. It's hard for most big punchers to fight well going backwards. Few could do that, Hearns had a fast powerful jab and could box as well, but guys like Mike Tyson and Chavez weren't that good when not able to press forward as usual.

Fury dominated Wilder, his fanboys will need weeks to recover from that whooping. Especially 1hourrun he must be on suicide watch at the moment. No need for the 3rd fight, Wilder couldn't compete, Gypsy King and King of the Heavyweights, Tyson Fury!

Shame on you haye. You predicted wilder by ko? Should know better. Fury won first fight, yet you still pick him? Wilder losing every round to 40 year old and you still pick wilder?
Are people so scared of power? Fury wasn't. He is calm under pressure. WIlder can hit hard and if you don't have confidence in yourself to avoid those then of course you have every right to be afraid.

I genuinely thought Wilder would win, but so glad Fury won!!

He did what no one has tried to do, everyone has tried to outbox wilder apart from Ortiz 1 and you can’t be perfect for 12 rounds!

Have always said Wilder fell in love with his power. Not only that but he had a terrible Team behind him.

At least wilder didn’t spit out his mouthpiece and quite and he took way more of a beating than Aj did bs Ruiz .

Absolutely terrible. Jay Deas was ****** enough to make an issue of the towel being thrown saying “it’s the head coach’s decision but we are a team” just weird. The towel should have been thrown in a round earlier., he became a staggering punch bag. I’ll save my critique when the Wilderlites return in 30 days and remind me how brave Wilder is taking the trilogy fight

Wilder needs to clean house and fire his incompetent trainer.

Its too late for him to learn how to box. He is almost 35 yrs old and he totally lacks the basic fundamentals of boxing. It is not that he learned them and then just fell in love with his power so he stopped using boxing's basics he never learned them to begin with. I always said that once he fought a good boxer he would be destroyed and that is what happened.

Wilder fans boys claiming he would beat Tyson or destroy former great heavyweights live in fantasy land. Previous eras of heavyweights would of easily took Wilder's right hand away and beaten him easily. He would never have gotten this far in previous eras. The reason he got this far is because of a very weak heavyweight division and also fighting the weakest possible competition that was available as long as he could.

He never grew as a fighter. He looks the same now as he did when he became a pro. That is the problem of PBC fighters. Haymon refuses to allow his fighters to go up in quality as they advance their careers. Due to this they never fully develop as fighters so their growth stagnates thus leading to outcomes like what happened to Wilder. This is what has happened to the Charlo brothers and it is what is happening to Davis.
