If Fury loses, would he get the same stick as Ruiz for being overweight?

He has slow feet because he is overweight and always has been. One is obviously able to carry the weight and show elite athleticism at heavyweight while the other plods around the ring like he has hooves.Comment

You might be the dumbest fccker on here, you dumb shythead.
Aesthetics don't matter in boxing, dumb fcck. It's about engine and muscles consume more oxygen than fat. Is that too hard for you to get into your thick skull?
Stop arguing idiot. You have never boxed a day in your life. Piss off, man.Comment

Had to block that wasteman from the thread. Fccking fat cu.nts just love arguing blindly. Fat is actually better than muscles for boxers and Ruiz showed his engine in the rematch by not gassing out for 12 rds (which he was notorious for in his previous fights) despite chasing Josh around for 12 rds.
Only idiots with an agenda love parroting nonsense. There's no difference in Fury coming in at 20lbs heavier than Ruiz coming in at the same weight. And muscles actually consume more oxygen than fat.Comment

Ruiz has always had slow feet and the weight in the rematch didn't have any bearing on that.
I guess you've never seen Ruiz fight before Josh. Even in the first fight, he had slow feet and was plodding all over the ring. He was just lucky that Josh fought to his strength and closed the distance for him by fighting him in the pocket after the knock down, hence he was able to land the temple shot.
And how do you know Fury would be able to carry the weight since he has never fought at that weight? And if he has, it should be very early in his career when he was rubbish and used to plod around until he changed his style to the current one.Comment

Ruiz is about 6 foot and you could see straight away how the weight had gone on.
Let's see how Tyson looks before deciding what the weight indicates. Based on the weigh in, I thought he looked thicker rather than fatter. But even a singlet can be deceptive.Comment

Its not even comparable.
Ruiz is 6'1" weighed in at 283 for the joshua rematch
Fury is 6'9" 273. 8 inches taller and 10lbs less than ruiz.
Fury is not overweight, thats a healthy strong weight for a man his size. Look at his face at the weigh in you can see his jaw line he has no double chin.Comment

The difference is that Ruiz has always had slow feet and he's a plodder. But his biggest advantage is his fast hands. So it wasn't the weight with him since he never gassed out.
Fury, since 5-6 yrs ago when he changed his style to the defensive one has always relied on being able to move and being nimble. So aesthetics don't really matter here. It's more about his movement and engine. And muscles consume more oxygen than fat.Comment

I saw Ruiz at the Home Depot Center out here in Carson when he was a prospect not even fighting televised. My first thought when I saw him was "who is this fat ****ing pig."Ruiz has always had slow feet and the weight in the rematch didn't have any bearing on that.

This is how I know Fury still has athletic ability at that weight. You have people half his size that cant even do one pullup let alone while adding artificial weight to the exercise.Last edited by Mister Wolf; 02-22-2020, 04:51 AM.Comment

Well, that should tell you that the guy has always been a fat guy and his body is naturally adjusted to being overweight.
Fury on the other hand is different. The biggest I've seen him in the ring is like 254lbs.Comment
