Jake Lamotta, another example even though SRR had s far superior career, because Lamotta was insane. Tyson, similar.

In terms of money, there has always been a fighter who raises the bar until someone else comes and breaks records due to inflation etc etc that type of thing doesnt hold up.

As I said apart from some baby mama drama, and extreme wealth Floyd's had a relatively normal life and we've seen those things in the past anyway, the wealth thing "money" persona is really it, and he puts that on to sell tickets before a fight. His career has been pretty much drama free too, he dominated for the most part, relatively speaking not much adversity, again this is a credit to his ability, dedication, and consistency.

Manny has more things about him that will stand the test of time. The rivalries, the losses, the returns, Freddie Roach. He will 100% get a Hollywood movie, no doubt in my mind, and probably multiple

Anyway we'll see in 20 years
Floyd is one of the most followed people on social media. I agree he will not have movies made about him, but again he has far more followers than Manny on every platform. I think you are not factoring in the shift in society where social media numbers now determine or are a better measure of relevancy in society.

Just look at this site-if Floyd wears some weird boots or jacket, 30 million people see it almost instantly and 2 or 3 people make a thread about it. Those threads will then have 10-20 pages. LOL!

You make really good points, but it isn't the year 1979 or 2000. Floyd putting out a video on social media will be seen more than a Hollywood movie about Manny.

It is funny that you can come to this forum and see a new Floyd thread daily. Usually its the 15th version of the exact thread that was created in 2006, 2008, 2010 (2x) 2012, 2014, 2015 etc.

why do you think they talk about floyd's clothes, cars, watches? because that's what he is bragging about for them to talk about!!! geezus!!! if manny went and bought a $18 million watch and post it on his social media, people will talk about that too!!!

you want people to talk about the good things that floyd does like manny? well, go tell floyd to go and something good instead of flaunting his money so people can talk about something else!! geezus!!!
Manny doesn't have anywhere near the same number of followers on social media. Relevance and ultimately being remembered is driven more by social media in this era than anything else.

They don't get brought up equally. You are kidding yourself if you believe that.

This is just another discussion where you over exaggerate Manny's impact just to argue. You're allowed to so nothing more I have to add.

I like Pac more but come on, its obviously Floyd. Hes a significantly bigger draw/star, hes American, and he won the fight.

I figure in 100 years either boxing will have been long banned in a sterile plastic nightmare of thought controlled blandness or humanity will be barely clinging on to survival in some post apocalyptic dystopia and popular entertainment will probably revolve around lethal pit fights with sharp pieces of metal.

Either way I doubt Floyd and Manny will be high up on anyone's list of priorities.

Pac will. Floyd only has 4 or 5 division titles and unbeaten record. Too many have titles in 4 or 5 divisions.
In 100 years how many more will retire unbeaten?

Floyd impressed me more early in his career. He fought and beat the who's who in his division and moved up and did the same. After he reached the top however, he began to cherry-pick and engage in very boring, lackluster fights, all while charging top dollar for them. This behavior increased as he aged. Floyd fighting MMA fighter Conor McGregor, who had never before boxed in a professional bout, yet counting the win towards his record was a shameful way to go out.

Manny's early career was also very impressive. He too fought his way up several divisions and became a champion. Manny is known for far more exciting than boring and far more competitive than cherry-picked fights. He also suffered a devastating KO loss to his rival Juan Manuel Marquez in what was a very exciting and entertaining fight. He could have hung up the gloves then, but he fought on and eventually rose the the top again. All of this while taking on competitive opponents- winning some and losing some. And then at the age of 40, he beat Keith Thurman and is champ once again! So while both fighters may be a topic of discussion in the years to come, Manny Pacquiao will likely be the one of whom I have the fonder memories.

Manny will have a more positive remembrance than Floyd. Manny had more endorsements deals, documentaries, more competitive & exciting epic fights.

Floyd is talked about more RIGHT NOW and hes been retired for years.

Manny is a legend an ATG but he will always be 2nd to Floyd.
