No need to defend him on here. He is a future hall of famer for sure.

His comeback wasn't successful but it was all taped on film to see how much of a challenge he had to take on.
He will eventually bring out a full 2h documentary about this, at least that was the plan.
The awful ending against Bellew in the rematch where he could hardly walk is now a negative end, so I have no idea when he is going to release it or if they sc****d the project.
A good mate of mine was part of the early filming when they started around 2012.
Knowing him from back in the day but no the current yes man around him I don't even feel safe to say he is done for good. The BBBoc are a joke anyways, who gives a guy with two torn huge muscle groups inside 12 months a license? Lmao

Kind of hard to go out like that but who knows how ****ed his body really is maybe he can't even train at all now.

They started shooting the documentary right after he had absolutely savaged Chisora in July 2012.
That was at his all time best. I believe they had him on a 6month training hiatus because his body was so stressed from the ridiculous training he did for that fight.
The first fury camp and the two pullouts (short footage was shown by sky before the Wilder Stiverne fight) includes more of the sparring footage as well, he floored guys multiple times (not Wilder).
That short highlight clip shows nothing. They were going all out in this camp which unfortunately led to the shoulder tear.

After his rotator cuff tear he began rehab and eventually was ready to train again in early 2015.
Booth and most of the old team were gone by that time already all advised him to end it for good.

Then the next "career ending" injury. He had to get a complicated back surgery with metal plates installed in his lower back.
Rehab involves having to learn to walk again from scratch.
It's a miracle Haye could get back into shape the way he did and a testimony to his warrior spirit that he always had.

The Bellew losses are included as well and I have no info from that point onwards since Haye threw all his old mates out and changed his team completely.
I have no idea who let him take that rematch after a Achilles tear (12months+ rehab)
Then he tore another bicep (he had torn one before) which is another 6months rehab but he still continued..
Result was a completely shot fighter against a fit pudding (Bellew)
Felt horrible seeing him go out like this, especially since the first match was the perfect way to go out like a warrior.

Something tells me the rumors about him being skint were true.
His wife divorced him in 2016 & he made some awful investments in Dubai.
The 10M from the Bellew losses maybe were worth it to him, sadly kinda of damaged his legacy.

If the documentary never comes out it would be a waste. Hope we will see it some day.
    Will be back to discuss

PS: also working on a career tribute video atm. "Rise and fall of the infamous Hayemaker DH" lol
I have all the old funny clips of him and some unseen footage.
Will post it up when it's finished

    Cheers guys
I always thought it was quite low the way, Eddie Hearn & Bellew forced David Haye into a rematch really quick 'Knowing that he was dealing with a serious injury' That was a tactical move, but also Haye himself over shooting the mark etc

Haye could of retired after the first Bellew defeat, as he lost the boxing match 'But seemed to win the admiration of the boxing world' due to his display of courage.

I used to enjoy the partnership of Booth & Haye, it was as if? You was competing against the body of Haye, but the mind of Booth 'A unique partnership'.

When I read thread title I thought it was in reference to how articulate he was and no sign he ever laced up before let alone signs of slurring words or punch drunk
