Since who would win can't be proven, I'm suggesting that a hypothetical fight between Mike and Wilder would not look anything like Wilder vs Ortiz.

Tyson was very humble with his answer and I too think Wilder beats him. The size disparity is just too much, and not only size but also power and athleticism. I didn’t like the way Tyson looked vs taller opponents that had pop like Douglas and Lennox. Now don’t get me wrong, I can see Tyson beating some guys like AJ, who was crushed by Ruiz. And prime Tyson could definitely do a lot of damage and KO to Parker, Ortiz, Povetkin, Whyte, Ruiz.

I think Fury’s style is all wrong for Tyson. But then the other side of me remembers a smaller Cunningham coming up from CW and knocked down Fury, but lost by TKO in what I felt was a foul punch. And I can’t blame Fury for going down hard vs Wilder because most of his opponents do.

I’d also like to think prime Tyson is all wrong for Wlad and his cautious, jabbing style and weak chin. But I do give Wlad a shot due to size disparity and ability to avoid punches from smaller/shorter opponents in his prime.

All in all, Tyson was an overachiever for sure for his size and height. If Tyson was a CW, he would’ve been the GOAT CW and likely retire undefeated. I think that when Tyson started facing higher skilled, similarly aged, taller fighters, he went downhill.

TBF, when talking about good/great heavyweights facing eachother, it is better to match them in height and weight. So Tyson vs Marciano, for example, is a better fantasy fight imo, due to their similar size. When you talk about HW’s today, you’re talking about giants, where 6’3” is now considered on the “shorter” side. Ali was 6’3” and Foremans is 6’4”, and now they would be dwarfed by the top 3 fighters. So it’s not fair to match Tyson vs them.

And so on...these are better matches imo because these fighters where from an era where 6’ was a good height for a HW. And I give Tyson a really good shot of going through that lineup undefeated.

TL;DR: There’s weight classes for a reason. HW’s today do not weigh like they did 100, 50, 30, or even 15 years ago. When Wlad was dominating he was dominating with his size, height, and reach. Lewis was gone, Vitali was gone, so Wlad had the crown all to himself with no tall, skilled fighters around, and heavy punchers were just too short. HW’s of the past would be light heavyweights and cruiserweights today. Especially the one’s that weight 180-190lbs ON FIGHT NIGHT.

Wilder is not very endearing making these sort of remarks against legends. Comes across as a bit jealous of iron mikes status. Tyson Fury is much more likable and has been very respectful of Mike Tyson. I'm sure there's a video of Wilder being ko'd by a little dude imagine what Mike would have done to him?

You know they tell me that Mike Tyson was out of his prime when he was around 23 years old ( HA! ). Fans of 'Iron' Mike phrase this assertion by referencing a short span of time in the young career of Mike Tyson : the years ' 1986-1989' when he became the youngest HW champion of all time, and just before he got exposed. I find that completely laughable and obviously flawed for sooo many reasons that I'm not even going to make any effort to dispute that ******ity.

We all know that quitter convicted rapist Mike Tyson choked when he stepped-up against anyone good enough and willing to fight back. Deontay Wilder would never lay down for old-man and bum beater Mike Tyson.

Here is something that gets overlooked when reviewing Tyson's standing among ATG HW's : Mike Tyson was protected against journeyman 'Razor' Ruddock ( Twice ), after Tyson got exposed by Buster Douglas. If you all done your homework you would know why.

No way does the 'Bronze-Bomber' take an L to Buster Douglas, that's like Wilder getting sparked by Dominic Breazeale, 'Razor' Ruddock would be like Deontay getting help from the ref vs. Dillian Shyte.

No way would the title of 'Baddest man' be given to Mike Tyson if Deontay was around.

Um Tyson was KOing guys who were 5-6 inches taller them him regularly. Wilder is a toothpick. Wlad wouldn't have the Chin to service, if you said Vitali that's a different story.

I knew someone would bring that up. You know Don King was giving Tyson giant turds to feed on. He wasn’t fighting no Lennox Lewis’ (until Tyson was past it) or Vitali Klitschko’s. Sure he fought some decent tall guys, but these decent tall guys weren’t HW greats or anything close to it.

We cannot, for example, say that Rigondeaux, at 5’4”, would crush any tall boxer because he destroyed 5’11” Amagasa. Because he beat the breaks vs a decent, taller opponent, doesn’t mean he could overcome any height/size advantage regardless of the level of danger the opponent faces.

I’m sure there’s a different level of danger between Tony Tucker and Deontay Wilder.

I was never convinced Mike was as good as everyone thought he was. He didn't beat anyone Wilder couldn't have.
