Most Significant boxing fight of the past decade?

Canelo still took 4 rounds off Floyd's 8. What other boxer did that on a countering game? Maidana abandoned boxing and just went forward racking up points for activity. Canelo looked impressive against Floyd after the 8th round, knowing he had to turn it up. Rounds 1-8 is basically Floyd's highlights over Canelo's mistakes, but most highlights don't focus on how Canelo made Floyd more alert and evasive after the 8th while getting tagged. The fact that it was at 152 when Floyd already full at the full limits before with DLH and Cotto suggests what?
And lastly, how is it that Canelo ''getting schooled'' whereas all other Floyd opponents didn't ''learn'' a boost in Ring IQ. It's obvious Canelo came in with the wrong gameplan. You can't box a master boxer. He was better off coming forward, a style that Canelo barely started with GGG-2. Imo, Canelo taking more hits with this approach since its more classic/rudimentary, but the fans love it.
You have to be the only person on the planet that thinks Canelo won 4 rounds that fight. Canelos mother and trainer dont even think he won that many rounds.Comment

If we’re talking about the significance it impact it had on boxing, then Fury taking Wlad’s belts shouldn’t be overlooked. Actually Fury going off the rails was just as significant because the belts all got fragmented again and it opened the division up
Had Fury not gone off the rails, he might’ve arguably just continued what Wlad was doing
But that night certainly brought in a new HW era for sure.
AJ v Wlad might’ve been a grand spectacle but the Fury win was the catalyst.Comment

- -True dat, but it set the continuum in 2010 when Manny agreed to the TUE date in March, MGM venue, and all terms save the last minute, nonstandard drug testing that stalemated the fight.
Manny couldn't use the venue TUE reserved, but met the date with a debut of spanking new Cowboy stadium vs Clottey who TUE ducked, and months later vs Marg who TUE also ducked.
TUE couldn't challenge Manny on PPV any more than he could challenge him in the ring, a clear emasculation of the TUE family and fans that continues to this very day.Comment

Floyd wasn’t in a significant fight. Past their prime opponents who failed to make a fight of it means no one will remember any of it years from now. That’s a tree falling in the woods when no one is around for ya.Comment
