    My point exactly sir .

As you are adressing the second question: its never good to get knocked out. Its never good to break your nose and ribs. It will always set you back and weaken your chin. But sparring hard is the most beneficial. Being as close to the real fight as possible without seriously hurting each other would be the optimum, obviously.
I answered your question already you wanna ask experienced fighters we are answering you . You need something like the loma edition venom headgear it will put you back over 200$ but that is the real answer to your question like a few people have stated and myself aswell gloves protect your hands ...that is all ...end thread . Pay for winning gloves and get some headgear that protects your nose . You are talking to a retired fighter who has a permanently fractured orbital bone and I still spar . I may know what iam talking about here . I use 18oz everlast and I invested in the venum headgear stated above it's slightly uncomfortable and like all headgear can obstruct your vision , but if u need to hide from punches you gotta make sacrifices . This is the answer to your question . More padding in the glove isnt gonna do what u want bro . I can tell you are inexperienced by your posts . And answer me this , what did your coach say ?? Prolly what iam telling you right now . Read the replies bro . Tour question has been answered by about 6 of us now .

You are very wrong sir . Gloves protect the hands , wraps protect the wrist....where did u learn this stuff ?? Lol headgear protects the face , yes huge gloves can help but not by DESIGN .

But the idea here is to make the non-pulled-punches less damaging.
And pls stop with the 'LeArN sOmE dEfEnSe'
We focus greatly on defense in my gym, but its always relative to your opponents offense. If you never get hit clean, you need to find better sparring partners dude.
          Be a bit open minded.
I've been in 100s of gym wars and my chin is rock solid. I've never been down in my career and I broke my face two times . Chins can be cracked but it doesnt happened with the right HEADGEAR ON FOR THE 3RD TIME . Invest in good headgear . Or stop sparring . There are also 25 other good headgear that protects the nose . Sparring can't be perfect circumstance to protect you the whole point is to learn how to protect yourself . Again iam.not sure who's coaching you but u need to have faith in their words and if they are telling you to look for pillow gloves to protect your opponents face you need to leave that gym if you are taking the sport seriously, you sir need to be open minded there is one answer to your question: they dont make the size of padding in sparring gloves because it is unnecessary, they already make huge ones that protect your hands the best that can be done with that design , and more padding isnt essential . If u wanna go for weight for speed use some wrist weights or better yet run and punch with 10lb and under dumbbells( depending your size experience etc ). , if u want to protect your face get the right headgear . If u want to protect your body , get good defence , becuase that's where punches hurt . I have only broke my nose once sparring and it was before my first fight becuase I was wearing cheap flimsy headgear . I hope this helps , and iam not trying to be a **** at all , I've been repeating the answer, and you aren't listening and called me closed minded . Iam far from close minded I practice open mindedness everyday . Iam in the NA program for 9.5 years . Becuase I had to retire due to my facial injury they got me hooked on pain killers and the depression of my career ending and the combo of the pills they told me werent addictive at the time had me as depressed as a man can get . I ended up with a needle in my arm a few years after they cut off my script cold turkey . I practice open mindness every day man . It's in the 3 top spiritual principles of the program that saved my life . All the answers u need to your question are right here in this post and I hope it helps you .

You’re ret@rded dude. The point of WRAPS is to compress stability so that your bones don’t move around on impact. Worrying about wrists or hands is about technique and general fundamentals on how to punch. I also use my own layer on top of the knuckles. Gloves are used because it’s not bare knuckle you dummy or else you’d break your hands. And if you’ve ever boxed, like I said, manufacturers have improved on special impact gloves for SPARRING to absorb the shock for the safety of the guy you hit.

Like i said, Hand wraps are the most important part to protect your hands. Try and box with a heavy bag without wraps and see how far you get. Power punchers REQUIRE IT. If you’re feather fisted or choose not to punch hard then you need not worry. Still, Cotton helps your skin not peel off your knuckles dummy, the basics.

I know what wraps do homie they stabilize you wrist which in turn helps keep your hand straight so you can punch with the right knuckles which does help avoid breaking your hand yes . U wanna sit here and call me a dummy and a rettard ( spelled wrong to avoid censoring lol ) then go to someone else to talk boxing . Everything we wear on our hands absurd shock which protects our hands . Answer me this where did I say wrist wraps didnt protect the hand ??i simply stated what they were designed for .I thought that was a given , but they are called WRIST wraps for a reason bro . Talking boxing with you I get the feeling I have spend a few more years in the gym that you have ,or maybe I've just been hit less ( that isnt saying much lol trust me )But that's besides the point iam not here to insult other fighters so if you truly are one then talk to your peers with some respect and debate boxing . You are usually funny , here not so much . Talk to me with respect or dont talk to me at all ,my neice is handicapped I wont tolerate that **** . Thank you .

                - -My bag been extensively repaired a half dozen x and I alternate between bareknucks and gloves, no prob.

Of course I had to work up to it in stages. When I started all the dogs in the hood would raise a cacophony from percussions and more than a few neighbors and noobs ran outside trying to figure where the machine gun fire was coming from.

                All cool now.
