When I was young it seemed like protection was more the headgear than the gloves. Gloves protect hands not heads.

Nothing will stop your nose from getting busted except like a helmet or some such similar ridiculous solution
Well, when a friend used the Winning gloves there certainly was a big difference. Now just add another super soft 3-5 inches on top of that and you could go hard every training.
Head gear doesnt seem to help too much regarding concussions and my head movement suffers from the thicker models.

Some gloves have very good wrist support, that might be needed then. Just imagine your current glove but twice as thick padded around the knuckle area.

I currently wear Cleto 16oz, they actually have an extra padded version as well, which has an extra half inch of padding. I imagine the normal ones I have would have maybe just over an inch of padding tops. Which is what I am getting at, even if it was doubled it might be 2 inches or a bit more, 8-10 inches would be insane, I doubt those novelty blow up gloves would have 10 inches.

How often do you spar hard?
If your answer is not 'every day', then you'd need such a glove as well.
And even professionals spar hard very rarely.
Everyone would benefit from a ridiculously padded glove, because you could give 100% much more often without losing your chin, nose and brain cells.

I hear ya bud but I don't make boxing gloves.

I don't think what you're looking for is widely available because I think the standard practice is to use headgear for protection not the gloves themselves.

It shouldn't be too damn hard to do it yourself though.

Have you considered a different material? You could inject polymers into normal foam or hair gloves and get a bit more protection that way.

I see no point in that at all to be honest

Ok I agree. I'm european, I can't handle anything but metric system.
Something between 3-5 inches seems reasonable.
The idea is just: much more padding than the established gloves. --> Sparring hard more often with less broken ribs and noses.

Hard sparring > soft sparring, but destroys your chin and higher risk of injuries. More padded glove solves that.
Also not everyone has a job in which he can show up with broken nose, ribs or black eyes.
Also it just messes with your training schedule

Interesting idea. I'd be far more comfortable with a professional company producing it, but I guess I have no other choice
