Also not everyone has a job in which he can show up with broken nose, ribs or black eyes.
Also it just messes with your training schedule
gloves protect the hands not the opponents face

Worth it for the protection they offer.

Why does not a single company produce a pillow-like sparring glove, with 5 inch thick padding?
Even if it would be heavy, that would just make us faster in the real fight.
Even professionals rarely spar hard and when they do, they often use annoying headgear.
So such a glove would be a game changer for everyone.

Now I'm sparring with 18oz gloves, which are very wide, but the padding is barely thicker than 14oz gloves.
Are u sparring to fight or sparring for fun ?? Its boxing u are supposed to get hurt when u get hit , there are 21 oz gloves out there move up to that , or better yet its sparring dont go hard, but that can be hard if you are inexperienced so maybe go spar some guys who are gonna make u work and take some rounds to get acclimated before u spar another novice for fun . Becusse u would be asking your trainer if u were a fighter not a boxing board

If your answer is not 'every day', then you'd need such a glove as well.
And even professionals spar hard very rarely.
Everyone would benefit from a ridiculously padded glove, because you could give 100% much more often without losing your chin, nose and brain cells.
Its actually quite the opposite more padding can mean it is harsher on your brain you will take more punches , especially if u are going full out with said big gloves . I say u stop sparring your friend and go learn how to box and spar some decent novice fighters your weight and your friend too and start learning the sport more . If u just wanna go hard then expect to get hurt . And maybe u guys need to learn some defence or just suck it up . You are scrapping you are going to get hurt it's the nature of the beast . It is what it is . What u need is good protective head gear not bigger gloves . And pros spar hard all the time . Just not close to a fight do u have any idea the gym wars I have witnessed ?? Some of the best fights happen in the gym and that's a fact .

With the current Winning gloves I still have to pull my power punches on a regular training day
I don't like the way they feel on my hand. Tried em a couple times but never owned a pair.

Are you serious?! lol. There literally are manufacturers that make sparring gloves. This is even after higher oz were presented for the added safety. And lastly, Larry, protection MAINLY starts with the wraps, not the glove.

These gym wars are how you end up with a chin like Amir Khan.
Of course sparring full force with pillows give you more brain damage than pulling punches in a bareknuckle fight.
But the idea here is to make the non-pulled-punches less damaging.
And pls stop with the 'LeArN sOmE dEfEnSe'
We focus greatly on defense in my gym, but its always relative to your opponents offense. If you never get hit clean, you need to find better sparring partners dude.
                      Be a bit open minded.
