On the bold...you're kind of hating on him in a way here too though lol

Prime vs prime it's a fun fight to think about...Ward was great at the dark arts and if he could get away with those he very may well have just been too big for GGG.

I could also see GGG outboxing Ward behind the jab and legit outboxing him most rounds en route to a decision(at least in my eyes)...Ward seemed to get the lion's share of close rounds in his career, imo aided by always fighting at home...he was great at really mucking up rounds and having a lot of 'pick em' rounds in his fights from my vantage point.

In 12 rounds I can't see GGG getting stopped regardless...same for Ward...Ward at worst would do a similar gameplan to what Murray did and that would pretty surely get him to 12 rounds as he is better than Murray in almost every way.

I miss those 15 rounders sometimes because I think we would some more legendary fights and some stoppages in those last few rounds, and then we would quibble less about who actually won.

Neither man was going to give up an advantage to make that fight. Ward would not come to 160 to fight GGG at his natural weight, and GGG was not going to 168 or above to fight Ward at his ideal weight. GGG was the middleweight champion and was under no pressure to move up. Ward called out Floyd in 2013 and offered to meet him at 160...yet he would not come down to 160 for GGG.

Golovkin said he would go to 154 for Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo but wouldn't budge for Canelo or Brook.

He built his hype claiming he'd fight anyone between 154-168 and then turned down fights in those weight, fights that would have been the biggest fights for him at the time.

          Anyone from 154-168 = Bull****
All the belts is my dream and target = Bull****
          Mexican style = Bull****

          Golovkin was a con man.

Let's stop ****ing about. Golovkin is going down in history as a hype job. Ward is going down as a ATG. Deal with it.

GGG made more money in one fight than Ward did his entire boring and overrated career, LMAO!

Ward ducked old man Hopkins, and cherry-picked his way to the titles. He had to weight-drain the hype job Dawson, and got a gift against Kovalev. His "legacy" will be one of a boring, dirty fighter who got lucky against a guy who Canelo KTFO!

His legacy is far greater than hype job Golovkin's. Not even debatable. You know it. Golovkin the con man played all you fools.

Ward on the other hand moved up a division and ended the myth of Kovalev, is the only person to convincingly beat Froch, has a good win over a prime Kessler, these names are all well above anyone GGG beat.

Basically Ward>Golovkin and it's not really debatable.
I think that context is important in these discussions. Canelo is way younger than GGG so he was able to wait him out a bit and no one else was all that anxious to step up and slay the supposed "hype job" Golovkin in 2012-2015. Here is what I remember:

                2010-2011: Felix Sturm ducks him

2012-2013: Sergio Martinez' management says that Martinez is only looking for big fights and nobody knows Golovkin (even though Golovkin was probably more well-known than Martin Murray around that time but I digress)

2014-2015: Cotto defeats Martinez, Canelo fights at 155 for awhile and then Canelo-Cotto happens for middleweight supremacy. Both guys could have fought Golovkin at this point but I don't blame them for facing each other instead.

2016: This is where Canelo-GGG definitely could have happened, especially in May of that year. There was no need to see Canelo nearly decapitate Amir Khan while Golovkin blew out Dominic Wade. A year doesn't seem like much but Golovkin is 8 years older than Canelo so fighting a year earlier would have benefited GGG.

Also, I think it's clear to see that Canelo isn't and wasn't that small because he's gone on to fight all the way up at 175.

Floyd mayweather never pursued fights at 160 and said he wouldn't go there as "everyone has limits...that's too far"...thus rendering anything ward said about him completely moot

lil g tried to make a couple of fights at 168...said hed fight there...his trainer said "would be his best weight"

                    plain and simple....
