Still no response from the Charlo camp in this day and age of social media where split-second replies are as normal as breathing. Four days and counting. Worse part is whatever they come up with will be nothing but concocted lies.

This is the guy who's been pretending to want the Canelo fight for how many years now?

As boxing fans were more invested in a fighters’ purse than his opponents and it’s getting sad. Every fighter should at least at the very least 33-40% of his fights be genuine challenges. I mean every fight is difficult, but year after year of facing subpar competition is disappointing

Even $4-5 million is a lot of money already, not to mention a once in a lifetime chance to depose the current king. If he beats him, more money will come. Truckloads of it.

It seems to be more and more common that fighters balk at large offers and the chance to depose the current money man of the division.

They hold out now, waiting for years and the chance to make 40 million for the fight.... rather than risking it, winning and becoming the new golden boy, so to speak.

Mayweather done it last, no one else has deposed the king since.

I don't know how much Canelo has taken over Floyd's money-making ability, but based on these current B-sde prices it would look like he had. Charlo is probably the equivalent of a Guerrero or Ortiz and they only accepted $1 million each. Showtime/Fox should now get ready to match these prices at their peril.

It's looking bad for the health of the sport.

Canelo isn't anywhere near the draw that Floyd is and seldom ever did his low-medium profile B-side opponents get more than a couple million. Shane Mosley got 6 million against Floyd..... I think you've vastly overestimated how much money this fight is worth and how much Charlo is worth. Either that or you believe the Al Haymon Back end Bed time stories. I believe both Jacobs and Kovalev got around 10M and its very possible those fights lost money, especially the Kovalev fight. Charlo isn't worth more than those guys..... the debate is on whether the offer was legit or not and not whether Charlo should have taken it or not. If the offer was legit then it should have been an easy decision for him.
It's kinda weird that Manny and Floyd on their haydays are slightly below on average purses compared to Joshua and Canelo these days despite being MASSIVELY more famous than them.

Canelo with his DAZN deal on average gets 35 million. Floyd on average got 32 million, Pacquiao on average gets 25-30 million. Canelo is not putting a million U.S PPV's on average while Pacquiao and Floyd did back in the day yet he gets paid more for it.

The money for top ten guys is better than ever I would wager. Guys are making millions from one fight, or looking to cash in.

I don't like to say it, but boxers now are looking very weak and all about money. I can't believe how many times I hear "I'm the A-side" like Mayweather..... Spence, Whyte, Parker just recently.

All these guys not even at the top claiming A-side because they made some cash..... they don't need it now, don't have to take risks and lose the millions they get every fight.

Jacobs told Charlo 1 yr ago, you aren't touching Ms (1 million a fight). Now, Charlo won't touch 10 mil a fight. This has to be the worst generation of boxing.

What you should understand is the addition of DAZN in the landscape.
They're investing crazy money for supposedly long-term gain.
They're spending money like drunken sailors.
What happens is that PBC/Haymon is forced to match the offers
just to make it look like they can do the same thing, overpay fighters
for fights that don't even do well in ratings.
Haymon is probably in massive debts as we speak all because of
trying too damn hard to keep up with the Joneses.

This will all die down in a bit and then rise again when Charlo picks his next cherry and the fans once again are robbed of a good challenge or unification.
