Mike was notoriously controversial anti social he never earned anywhere near Floyds money and he never drew anywhere near the numbers so Im not sure what you call a star as Floyd could buy Mikes life 3 times over, if you are not the bigger star how do you earn 5 times the money .

theres no comparison. tyson represented the "little man" who could overcome the big bad and also get rich, an 80s dream marriage of moral and morale.

That may as well be due to his explosive power and the animal he was inside the ring.Hence a untamed lion before he met Cus. Cus tamed the lion and channelled that anger,aggression and power inside the ring to make him the star he was.No cus no Tyson the explosive animalistic boxing champ.

Was Mike Tyson massive outside of the US? Maybe my view of him is warped, but, I think Mike's the most or second most popular boxer of all time. Either Mike or Ali. Both of them have fans that don't give a **** about boxing. Ali has his activism fans and Mike's got his video game fans, they both have Hollywood fans and comic book fans.

The only thing is, is it not possible with connectivity of the age for more people around the world to know Floyd than Mike even if Mike is extremely popular where he is known? Places like Saudi Arabia and whatnot that are just now opening up to boxing may not know Mike like we all know Mike. I don't think so though. I'm pretty sure everyone on the planet knows the three American 80s Mikes. Mike Tyson, Michael Jackson, and Michael Jordan were worldwide, no?
