Canelo during round 4 of the Jacob's fight looked like a God. Very reminiscent of Roy Jones. He later he showed his durability when taking possibly the hardest punch of his career in round 9 and shook it off like it was nothing. Canelo fished the fight strong and took home the UD.

For the Kovalev fight Canelo showed great poise and kept a tight guard the entire fight leaving very little for Kovalev to work with. It was beautiful to watch and I hope the younger generation is learning. Virgil Ortiz very well might be since his last fight was fought very similarly. Another thing to note from the Kovalev fight was Canelo's fierce counter punching, power and speed. He wasn't holding anything back and was punishing Kovalev all night. Sure we would have wanted Kovalev to have taken more risk, but in terms of Canelo's performance, it was master class.

            Well deserved.

If he wants to win it next year he'll have to choose the right opponents. Maybe Smith and Beterbiev. A tall order but that would really cement his career and put him into the discussion of an ATGs.

Can't really argue with Canelo but could have gone a few ways. But to compare jacobs to Mayweather is laughable

Can't take any fighter seriously who has been popped for PEDs. Have no interest in following this guy's career anymore. Once a cheater, always a cheater

Other than Golovkin, pretty much ever single opponent Canelo has had over the last several years has been forced by contract to fight with a handicap. Canelo is a very good fighter but how he really stacks up against his contemporaries, we’ll never know.
