If this is what has earned canelo fighter of the yr, it's either because boxing is on a serious decline or its a popularity contest.
    This emotional female AGAIN?!!

A simple question is, "If Alvarez's victory over Kovalev was so earth shattering, than why was the Russian a +300 underdog?"
Odds like that mean if Canelo loses, it's a MAJOR UPSET.
That's just a fact, spin it anyway you can.

Canelo deserves this award, had two great wins against two good/great fighters and left no controversies... you can make a case for a few other boxers that may be worthy of the award but that doesn’t make canelo the wrong choice. Well deserved champ

This is a paradox in actually acknowledging how good Canelo is!

Name any Champs at 160-168 and their theoretical odds against Kovalev?

            You’ll learn these things:

Whom would have the most success in body punch targeting? Breaking a man down has its categories. If you’re not as big as Yarde or Ward and you’re at 160-168, whom else would have success against Kovalev?

The fact is Canelo Alvarez is the best counter puncher in the game with effective body work. Isn’t that enough proof?

The odds are based on the Yarde performance. All Kovalev had to do was beat Yarde. What if Kovalev beat Yarde in 4 rounds? All Kova had to do was win since their fight was still a go in Nov. What was their odds? Get the point?

In other words, Pac and LDBC fans are usually h0m0sexuals

Canelo was flalling punches and had bad footwork against Floyd? Floyd did that to him. Give Floyd credit!! How could a guy go 12 rds with a master boxer like Lara but be bad against Floyd?
If Canelo fought a legit hungry in his prime light heavyweight he would not be fighter of the year. He CLEARLY did not.
Any time he fought upper echelon he barely won or was gifted. Am I wrong? Or did he fight the best LHW champ in his prime and beat the h@ll out of GGG, Lara, Trout,Jacobs. He does not deserve Lomanchenco notariety.

Who do you think deserves it more than canelo?

Instead, Canelo gave up his Sept date, vacated his IBF MW title and chose to fight a diminished and vulnerable Kovalev.
The Russian was coming off a grueling fight and a short camp and was a heavy underdog, where as Alvarez had enjoyed a 6 month "drug test free" vacation.
So the diva's got one decent win this year against Jacobs and Danny's a guy who has lost every time he's stepped up in class.
That's hardly a great year despite the hype.
Canelo is on record stating he will fight ggg if the money is right... basically pulling the same card on ggg as ggg did ti canelo for the 2nd fight... canelo paid up and made the 2nd fight happen, now it’s ggg’s turn to cough up the money if he wants the 3rd fight. Don’t be a dumbass
