Lol no worries, it's a provincial "small pond" mindset lacking financial sophistication that characterizes the delusional Brit homerism, but at least it's funny.

You're uninformed and your provincial mind isn't capable of grasping the vast competitive American marketplace.

I don't really mean second rate as an insult, my point was Froch had already been dominated by a one-armed Ward and had been outboxed by Groves (who was decent but proved to never be elite) until the bogus UK stoppage in the first fight. They were both good fighters but it was more a fight for domestic supremacy, not world supremacy.

You also are not taking into account that the ticket prices are cheap for UK stadium fights and based on my stadium experiences here the experience is subpar to the intimate experience of the MGM Grand where I have been to a couple of Pacquiao fights. 90k at Wembley for AJ vs. Klit only generated a gate of 11 million dollars. Canelo vs GGG in Vegas generated 27 million dollars with 25% of the attendance. Your pea brain may not be able to wrap your head around that but I figured I'd give it a shot.
25% of the attendance generated more than twice the revenue. Great.

But the US has a huge market. Limiting your numbers might drive ticket prices higher but it doesn't grow the percentage of the market that are prepared to pay for the sport. Similarly high PPV prices does exactly the same.

It's a simple case of supply and demand. But want to know what's better than decreasing supply? Increasing demand. It's basic. So, so basic.

It's a huge missed opportunity by the current crop of dinosaur promoters in the US.

No need to do promos where it looks like WWF or WWE. Just a boxer with multiple belts who is fighting highly ranked competition every time he fights. That's why the entire UK gets behind him. Take Fury and Wilder off each others record and what do you have? Mostly bums, old men, gatekeepers and the rest. Neither one of them has fought the best and that's why they can't sell a fight. No one wants to see them fight more bums. We want to see them fight Povetkin, AJ, Whyte and other with no excuses. Fight them all and THEN maybe Wilder or Fury can fill an arena. And one question to all you Wilder fans. How many of you have ever been to one of his fights? How many of you have ever actually bought a ticket to watch him KO another bum?
          Good comment^^^

I don't necessarily disagree, I understand what you mean and it makes sense. That is why I don't think it make sense to compare the 2 markets, it's apples and oranges as to the circumstances and how they operate.

Boxing in the UK is behind football,tennis,darts,cricket,F1 etc so what is your point?

IMHO it just shows that Brits think outside the box and follow other sports that dont usually appear on mainstream tv.

As a boxing fan I would assume it is good for the sport that the UK has embraced boxing again, but what would I know? I don't follow any of the other sports, claim dole money or holiday in Spain.

Or maybe you Brits have fewer popular sports and lower standards.

Take 2 year retired and already embarrassed by Fury Klitchko off of Joshua's resume and who do you have? Mostly bums and gatekeepers.

Fury is better than anybody on Joshua's resume, including Joshua himself.

Better yet...have them do the opening tip off at a major televised NBA game.
