If MMA guys would to what they do best (Grappling) nobody would watch.
Thats why 80% of time it's like watching low level boxing match.
So the MMA fighters are entertainers more than real fighters.
It's entertaining many people to see college wrestlers throwing haymakers and wild knockouts.
but it doesn't mean there lots of skill what they do,
even if they have great grappling skills.

Boxing has a history and culture, Mixed Martial Arts does not have quite the same depth.

'UFC's culture is what exactly? Boxing is a historical past-time. You only have to look at movies such as 'Far & Away to understand that etc'

Some people may champion Mixed Martial Arts, and talk about street fights 'Boxing was once the worlds biggest sport for a very long time' There is no other combat sport that can claim to of reached the same heights.

And that is because for a very long time in human history, boxing was more than just a sport 'Boxing will out live the UFC & Mixed Martial Arts'.

I LOVE all combat sports but my first love is BOXING, that said, boxing sucks NOW. Ive watched maybe 4-5 boxing PPV in the last 4 years. Ive watched 8 UFC PPV’s. Says fcn something
And for the MORONS that are arguing about Lesnar. Hes an old damn good wrestler WHO almost weighs 300 POUNDS! Thats a HUGE fcn ADVANTAGE in ANY combat sport. Hes a monster.
MMA is a far more difficult combat sport to master. Being a great boxer in mma means something but not much.

I think for me as a casual fan of the UFC (and really only a fan of a few fighters) the thing is not to take the events to seriously or critique its fighters in the same way I do boxers.

Their striking for the most part looks very sloppy in comparison to most average boxers.

And someone like Mcgregor who is considered a high-level striker in the UFC got carried by Mayweather for a number of rounds (just so he could win the bet he had on himself).

Its can be entertaining but from a striking perspective dont expect a huge amount of quality, but in saying all that more and more high-level kick-boxers are going into the UFC so there are improvements.

Those "entertainers" would beat boxers 9 times out of 10 under any combat sport ruleset that isnt pure boxing. But they arent "real fighters"?

Guys like Adesanya, Aldo, Wonderboy, Conor, Moraes, Walker etc are clearly high level strikers, they would beat boxers more often than not in a pure striking competition. Judging their striking through a boxing-centric lens is just weird, MMA striking is not boxing. Boxers dont have kicks, knees, elbows or a developed clinch game. Plus 4oz gloves, takedowns, no count etc is a game changer. ANYONE can get slept in MMA.

With him out of the equation the biggest active draw in boxing is Canelo, who is a clear step down from Conor in drawing power, and he isnt even on traditional PPV anymore anyway.
Just go look at the biggest live gate for MMA in the past few years, then go look at boxing's. Besides the ****** Mayweather fight.

                  Just compare them.

                      hahaha wtf

mcgregor is one of the best 'strikers' in ufc

then he got in the ring with mayweather and showed he couldn't bust a g****. seriously that was some of the most pathetic, weak, femine punches ever thrown in the history of pro fighting

in a street fight 90% of people use their fists, and fists only. and boxers have the upperhand there. boxers would beat the shyt out of mma fighters
