Boxing will out live all other combat sports, it is more accessible than other combat sports and easier to participate in etc

Plus it is a historic past time in many countries, the sport has a lot of historical depth 'Which Mixed Martial Arts/UFC can never duplicate'.

It does not really matter whether is corrupt, as the sport seems to show a high level of immunity for some unknown reason 'But most combat sports do in that sense'

And MMA has produced many stars so popular that they're doing things outside of the sport. Heck, in some cases, they were more popular in MMA than they were in other sports.

All you do is bring up the past but it's time to accept the fact that things have changed. This isn't the 20th century or the 19th century. Things have changed, including boxing itself and the fact that boxing is not the only combat sport to watch anymore, that alone is a major change itself.

Although ive been defending MMA a lot in this thread, I do largely agree with this. There is never going to be a day where there is some official "takeover" where boxing dies off and MMA takes its place. Its not logical and I honestly dont get why some people even fantasize about it happening. Both sports can and will coexist, as they have been for a long while already. As you mentioned the UFC already peaked around a decade ago, at the same time boxing had Floyd and Manny breaking PPV records, which just proves that one sport doesnt need to fail for the other to succeed.

UFC has the almost perfect promotion, they put a heck of a lot of effort into promoting their sport under its PERFECT business structure. 'Even still they have been unable swallowed boxing' I can remember 10 years ago, people walking the streets wearing Tap-out T-shirts and ****ing on about some UFC computer game 'Around the days of Rampage Jackson vs Rashad Evans, was the sports peak'.

Boxing as a sport has also had its peak 'It was the worlds biggest sport'and before that? It was more than just a sport 'It was a way of life & survival for those that where brave enough to throw a punch in anger'. It had the ability to take a Peasant and uplift them along side Royalty, boxing has a deep romantic history that Mixed Martial Arts & the UFC cannot duplicate.

Boxing is a sleeping Godzilla.

In general society has changed, more safer and inclusive sports such as team sports 'Are what people gravitate towards these days'.

Note: I actually preferred or was more intrigued by female Mixed Martial Arts fighters, and I think that section of the sport has more potential than the male side of the UFC 'But maybe even that side of the sport has reached its peak'. I also enjoyed K1 and preferred it over the UFC etc
