Mayweathers victory of Canelo is one of the most underrated victories in boxing.

I bet she put up a better fight than Paquiao did.

Maidana 2x, Pacquaio was top ten p4p fighter and the younger man, Guerrero and Ortiz were prime, so the answer is yes

yes but you also have to consider the man was fighting past prime himself but you know Floyd doesnt age right?

he started the decade 32-33 years old and in his 4th and 5th division....

but Maidana, Ortiz guerrero were all prime....Manny was a top 3 p4p fighter....sooooo..

OP do not want Mayweather to win FOTD. Ward and Canelo is the other two fighters worthy.

Pacquiao was close to his best when they faced off and four years later is still beating top WWs. He was P4P #2 when Floyd beat him. Canelo was in top the 10 P4P, Mosley was #3 P4P coming off the Margarito destruction.

Floyd clearly beat two other top candidates for FOTD and that gives him the edge. He is going to rightfully win the award on most publications and sites.
Not sure what the ambiguity is about; Manny fought with an injured shoulder and was not the same fighter he was against Cotto or Margarito. That's just a fact. Mayweather himself has openly admitted he marinated the fight for five years. He claims it was because he had clairvoyant powers to predict it would sell better later on down the road, but the fact is he waited him out until he saw some kinks in his armor.

Canelo as we've already pointed out, has been a much improved fighter since losing to Floyd. So again, not at his very best.

Regarding weight classes, some fighters can outgrow a division and still be at their best when they move up. Both Floyd and Manny proved that. Floyd was still every bit as capable at 147 as he was at 130, he just adopted a more defensive style that was risk averse.

I just don't feel he did enough for FOTD. I don't feel he deserves it. How anyone thinks Ward is in the discussion is beyond me.

that man was throwing bombs 12 rounds, nothing was wrong with his shoulder and definitely not a tear, cant even pick up a bag of groceries let alone lift youe hands up over head, take selfies, throw hundreds of powershots, yet never winced or complained in the corner

                      sounds like excuses to me

                      tough tittie

the man was never on floyds level and thats OK
