PBC has more pull with the WBC than anybody.
Yet PBC hasn't requested for any of their fighters to vacate their title in favor of the meaningless franchise honor.
DAZN has. ESPN has. But not PBC.
Wilder is on record clearly stating he would refuse to vacate his world title and has no interest in the honorary franchise title.
DAZN had no part in Canelo being "elevated" to franchise champion. That was very obviously a decision made by the WBC to save them from the embarrassment of having to order a mandatory between Canelo and Charlo, and then being compelled to strip Canelo of their 160 title for a second time when he refused to comply.Comment

Wider shouldn't need to fight Whyte or anyone else in the top 10. Opinions of fanboys should be enough to for him to keep his championship belt.
Wilder beat Ortiz who is well known as being one of the best 40 year old fighters in the world. And he beat Breazeale in a round. Breazeale is also one of the best fighters in the world. Wilder also beat Stiverne who is also one of the best fighters in the world. I could go on...Comment

Wilder has been franchise champion since he won the title January 2015. He wasn't forced to fight a number 1 ranked mandatory until November 2017. That's 2 months shy of 3 years. Last time I checked mandatories were due one per year. This is why I used to call him BUMSQUAD. Because that's all he would ever fight, unranked bums.Comment
