U and mechslave both are hypocritical!! I frown down more on fighters not fighting someone who most thought fought a close fight with them before, than fighters who never fought each other. If u a fight guy and he gives u a run for your $$$ and he wasn't supposed to, u fight him again. The fact that he is in no rush to fight Collazo again shows me it wasnt no fluke and Hatton just might lose again. -

It's never that simple for some people unfortunately.Originally posted by Smokin'You're not a credible poster if you think Collazo beat Hatton. Simple as that.
Unfortunately people do exist who have such a lack of understanding of the fight game that they honestly believe Collazo beat Hatton. They should be banned. We need some quality control.Comment

I think the reason why so many fans(including myself) think that there should be a rematch is, that Collazo had Hatton seriously hurt several times in the fight and was close to knocking him out in final round. And from what I remember(the fight was awhile ago)Collazo was able to hit Ricky at will and scored quite a few hard combinations throughout the night.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoIt wasn't controversial. It was unanimous. Most people who know how to score fights had that one 114-113 for Hatton or 115-112 for Hatton and not much else is acceptable. Hatton won a good, close fight against a tough southpaw. End of story.
This is not controversial like Barrera vs. Juarez where it was declared a draw, before two judges changed their scorecards to make EVEN ROUNDS, which is unheard of in big fights for the most part. Barrera knows his win was controversial, so he is giving the necessary rematch. HBO and all three judges had Hatton winning a close fight. It was not controversial.
My point is, Hatton looked very beatable that saturday night by very game and underestimated Luis Collazo. Also, had Hatton not scored that "flash" knockdown in the first round, the fight is likely scored in Collazo favor. I think a rematch proves to be a good fight and makes Hatton's position in the boxing world look better(if he wins) than if he fights Urkal in december.
Also, is there any truth to the rumor that Hatton promised Collazo a rematch after the fight?Comment

Yeah he said he'd rematch him; but days or weeks after there was talk of either fighting the Gatti/Baldomir winner or dropping down to 140.Originally posted by BostonGuyAlso, is there any truth to the rumor that Hatton promised Collazo a rematch after the fight?Comment
