What is your opinion of the referee Kenny Bayless?

Hes far & away among the worst refs of all time. They don't call him kenny Mayweather for nothing. He literally visited floyds mansion to kiss his ass,& would regularly kiss his ass in interviews despite conflicts of interest especially considering he protected floyd like his 1st born son(not truly needed usually imho). The funniest thing is just like a certain espn fanboi of floyd in Bayliss,floyd treated them both like sht when they visited his mansion to kiss his asslips. Floyd LITERALLY showed them both zero hospitality

He regularly kissed his ass in interviews?


Can you post an example? I don't think I've ever seen him interviewed so would be interesting to hear his insight on things.

Solid in most of the fights I recall him in. Not all.

Cortez was good but he stiffed Hatton in the Mayweather fight - broke too much up so didn't let Hatton work on the inside as much as he wanted. I think had Cortez not interrupted him so much then Hatton would have had more go his way and could have made it to the end of the fight to lose on points rather than the late stoppage.

Yeah, Cortez was having none of it though.

Boxing Fans particularly on this forum and I'm sure I'm included as well...We value our opinion way too much. We Think We can promote better that promoters, Ref better than Refs, Train Fighters better than Trainers but in reality most of us really don't know SH#T. If you was to have a debate with a Professional Ref about how he should do his JOB they would embarrass you and show you that you don't know as much as you THINK when it comes to being a Ref

Bayless, Reiss are all excellent Refs who been in this sport a long time. Yeah they've made mistakes during fights absolutely but it is easy to get on a Forum and pick at the mistakes they've made

The problem is that we know there is corruption in boxing...and when you see patterns with certain fighters/judges/refs, it begs the question whether it it not just incompetence but corruption that is taking place with some of them.

Do you think he's a good ref?

He stood there watching as Wilder grabbed Ortiz into a hold and repeatedly landed illegal rabbit punches, the type that could kill a man (because it's Wilder)...and if that wasnt enough Wilder then threw Ortiz into the ropes.
This ref should actually be banned for life for that performance. It's blatantly obvious he was in there to protect Wilder.

Boxing is so corrupt, that by comparison, Bayless seems OK.
I LOLed when I saw Cortez cited as a good or fair ref when he was one of the most corrupt.

SO yeah by comparison Bayless may be better than others.
Not sure there currently is a ref who isn't corrupt. He'd never get any fights.

I think Octavio Meyran, not long after the Tyson Douglas fight had to give up reffing.
Don King, I'm sure had nothing to do with that.
