I LOLed when I saw Cortez cited as a good or fair ref when he was one of the most corrupt.

SO yeah by comparison Bayless may be better than others.
Not sure there currently is a ref who isn't corrupt. He'd never get any fights.

I think Octavio Meyran, not long after the Tyson Douglas fight had to give up reffing.
Don King, I'm sure had nothing to do with that.
    Probably for that longgggg count

Talk about me again while sidestepping a quote. It's real respectful, so respectful in fact I'll have to follow suit with my own form of respect:

I mean, I'd've spoken to you about it if you wasn't such a ***** and actually asked me, *****.

Corruption is something for ******s who can't eat a loss to *****, whine, and cry about. Idealists who have never accepted the real world situation; life is not fair and if you give it the opportunity to **** you that's you ****ed....you know, real butterball-tinkerbell-*****es like yerself.

A good ref isn't a beacon of justice, ****, if it was meant to be we'd have more protection for the rules and less for the refs themselves, dumbass.

I've seen him call a knock down when it wasn't. I've seen him call not a knock down when it was. I've seen him pushing a fighter to his corner several times after a knock down buying the opponent some extra time to recover.

All of these... In favor of Pacquiao's opponents. He's either bias or got money on it.

There's a referee that I like, older black dude with the funniest facial expressions in the ring. He seems straight.

And clinching..once again WHEN WAS THAT SEVERELY ENFORCED??? you act like Floyd invented it..fighters been doing it for over a century...yet you wanna point Floyd out and slam Bayless...please provide me some examples of great refs who enforced these rules
im not a nitpicker. if a guy bends below the waist a couple times thats fine but to do it 30 times in a fight? come on thats a strategy and its clearly against the rules. its not enforced much but it doesnt make the fight better does it? it totally kills the momentum by having one guy essentially calling a timeout and saying hey you cant punch me while im down here. clinching has been enforced from time to time. akwindada was dq'd for doing it. that chavez guy that fought rios was dq'd for it. those were b-side guys though. you know how boxing works. if a b-side guy does it "oh he doesnt want to fight" if an a-side guy does it "oh wow great strategy champ!" these things dont make boxing better in any way. just because people got away with it in the past is not a good argument for continuing to let it happen. if a guy clinches every once in a while fine but to do it nonstop to prevent your opponent from doing anything is wrong from a competitive and entertainment perspective. just look at the 2 maidana fights for reference. first fight was a fun fight. a close fight. floyd didnt clinch much. second fight he clinched nonstop and it was unwatchable.

He was once good but has gone senile like Cortez. But Cortez was never good. Never knew why they have such old ass refs.

Gotta rise up the ranks, most experienced get the biggest fights. Young refs are sitting at the glove weighing station in the amateurs still.

He breaks fighters up to quick at times during the fight at times.

I used to think he was a pretty competent referee but I get the feeling he needs putting out to pasture. Was awful in the Taylor-Ramirez fight.

I firmly believe anyone in their 70’s should not be refereeing a professional fight tbh. We’ve seen countless examples of older referees looking out of their depth.
