thats a strange way of rewriting history but joshua offered ortiz 7 million and haymon matched that. you got it backwards. the whole reason he got that much from pbc is because of joshua so he should thank joshua for setting him up for life. without him he gets his usual 1 mill or so.

Actually, the truth is Ortiz was a WBA mandatory for JOSHUA, but Hearn convinced Ortiz to step aside and allow Joshua to fight Klitschko for the WBA belt instead ...

So according to your version of "the truth" Ortiz was AJ's WBA mando before AJ even became the WBA champion!

What actually happened was that the WBA ordered the winner of AJ/Wlad to fight their mando Ortiz next, and the IBF also ordered the winner to fight their mando next, who was Pulev.

Obviously, the winner couldn't fight both of them next, so the IBF and WBA held a meeting and decided that the IBF mando should happen first, because it had been ordered first.

Nothing to with Hearn convincing anybody to do anything.

Then after Joshua beat Klitschko, Hearn chose to renege on Ortiz again and had Joshua satisfy the IBF mandatory with Pulev. Even after Pulev refused, Ortiz was ignored yet again and Joshua somehow managed to fight Takam for the IBF mandatory. Ortiz realized he was getting the shaft, jumped out of the WBA rating, left Matchroom and Wilder gave him a shot.

I explained above why it was that the IBF mando was given precedence over the WBA mando after AJ beat Wlad. Hearn didn't have the power to choose which one came first, ffs!

AJ didn't just just "somehow manage" to fight Takam after Pulev withdrew. Takam was next in line for the IBF mando position so AJ had to fight him next. That's how this stuff works.

And Ortiz didn't jump out of the WBA ranking because he realised he wasn't getting a shot. He opted to sign with Haymon and fight Wilder instead of waiting, and lost his WBA No1 ranking when he first failed a PED test, then got KTFO by Wilder.

Ortiz was offered $7million to fight AJ. His own manager and trainer verified that!

And he his purse for Wilder $1.5million, plus a cut of the PPV income, whatever that turns out to be. And going by what we've heard so far, it won't be anywhere near $7million.

Ortiz obviously still has something to offer, but I wouldn’t favor him over any top heavyweight now. I think he can still serve as an entertaining opponent for almost anyone, but his best days are simply too far behind him. And really, assuming he really is 40 (which I don’t believe he is) how many more fights does he have left? One? Two?

A rank Ortiz higher than Whyte for now. IMO he’s still got 1-3 good fights left in him.

Ignore the Matchroom employees. They are paid to spin it. Their man pissed dirty, was nailed by UKAD, didn’t tell the opponent and was containing the ugly truth until a US writer blew Hearn’s cover. Big question- where was the “British press”? How did a US independent journalist find this out? Did the UK sportswriters know and go along with it to cover for Hearn? If Whyte had signed with PBC - the wilder fight would have already happened. Every Wilder Defense has been against a fellow PBC fighter, except mandatory Stiverne. Sucks but that’s business. Joshua was supposed to fight Miller - a Matchroom fighter. When Miller pissed dirty, it was offered to Whyte, who passed. At that point Matchroom was out of either names, or notable Americans for a big Madison square garden fight. Hearn had no options but call the guy with the bulk of US HWs. Haymon. Rest is history. Ortiz passed and it came to Ruiz. It’s business. But pissing dirty and covering it up is pure sleaze and that’s why the boxing world hates Whyte
