The only downside to signing Mikey is he isn't an East Coast based boxer and will not help dazn expand in an area in the country where they have a smaller footprint. Other than that it would be a good move to add him if you put him in good fights.
Mikey got the Spence payday but he might have been better off not leaving TR.Comment

U tripping... Mikey lost one fight vs p4p Spence. The fact the he is one of the main guys rumoured to fight Manny goes against everything your saying.
Mikey is a credible name to have on your resume especially if its vs a 140 guyComment

Signing Mikey about a YEAR too Late honestly! The Buzz is Dead for him since the Spence Jr fight but also that is ****** to sign him then depend on by them signing him to deliver quality opponents so you're signing him with no legit plan for him
Mikey better make sure this is the right move for him because he could sign with DAZN and become totally forgotten which would be SAD. Fight Jessie Vargas...then what? Maurice Hooker after losing to Jose Ramirez maybe? Doesn't seem like a smart move but is probably being offered a lot of money so take it if it is about him getting as much money as possible before retiring. When it comes to Legacy, it is NOTHING at DAZN that can help him build Upon Legacy at 140-147Last edited by sicko; 11-27-2019, 01:49 PM.Comment

DAZN are all in on the Mexican fanbase, look at the upcoming schedule
Dec 7 - Ruiz vs Joshua
Dec 13 - Ortiz Jr vs Solomon
Dec 30 - Jacobs vs Chavez Jr - Martinez Jr vs Rosales
Jan 11 - Munguia vs O'Sullivan
Jan 30 - Farmer vs Diaz - Estrada vs Yafai -Roman vs Akhmadaliev
Chuck in a few smaller GBP cards
Every damn thing is Mexican. This is why theyre happy to pay for fights that don't look good on paper like Chavez Jr, and Mikey vs Vargas. Want to keep those Mexican Americans locked in.Comment

Haymon doesn't understand the US market either. Giving out thousands of comps to an American heavyweight champion knockout artist's fight is unheard of. The Charlo sisters can't sell and their career is going nowhere. They keep trying to hype up Caleb Plant to get the white audience but nobody seems to care.
Boxing is a global sport and Matchroom will be fine because it's a global brand. I can't say the same thing about PBC. Scaling down arenas and selling tickets for $15-$30 for Plant or the Charlo's isn't great for their long term viability. They might do half a dozen shows on Fox that get not so terrible ratings each year and a few PPV to subsidize purses but if there were to be a recession their house of cards comes crashing down. Those 80% empty arenas become 95% empty, those 100k viewers on Fox Sports become 50k, and 300k ppv buys becomes 100k buys.Comment

There is no one guy. The biggest name is Canelo. The supposed 2nd biggest was Joshua. Nobody rushed with them to sign after those two guys except GGG and they vastly overpaid for him for one fight. A fight that isn't as intriguing as it was a year ago.Comment

Let's assume Floyd is off the table. If you were running DAZN and your livelihood depended on it being a success who would you make your next approach to?
