  • Comments Thread For: Briedis Stripped Of WBO Title; Glowacki To Fight For Vacant Belt

Mairis Briedis' latest career decision clears a path for the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) to proceed as planned, just not with as much hardware as once hoped to be the case. The fight was ordered on November 6, with the two sides given a 15-day window to reach terms or else be subject to a purse bid hearing.

As long as Glowacki eventually fights the winner of Dorticos vs Briedis, fine.

Nobody cares about the WBO. It is the worst of the big 4. Most american promoters & networks disregard it as a major title. It used to be rated at the same level as the NABF or USBA belts.

Only PBC ignores the WBO and it’s clearly better than the WBC and WBA at this point.

I doubt it, Okolie doesn't throw enough and Glowacki is not going to get suckered into fighting at Okolie's pace or distance.

Apart from PBC, who else disregards the WBO title in US?
