A good swarmer definitely could beat him — good swarmers are good fighters (boxing or street).

Look at how A- level swarmers troubled Mayweather (Castillo I and Mariana I). I think a top-level swarmer could have beat him.

Canelo isn’t near Mayweather’s level so it’s clearly true for him too.

I think that type is made for him. I would look for a long and tall boxer with a good jab to beat him, like and Andrade or Callum Smith.

NO a "Swarmer" gets knocked the **** out IMO. Going after Canelo is a terrible strategy, you have to BOX HIM get him to move his Feet which is not his strength

A Skilled Boxer with some Slickness and some Pop will still give him trouble. I don't see that at 160-175 at the moment, Andrade is skilled but I seen him caught and floored by lesser talented than Canelo. Plant at 168 is slick, that wouldn't be a bad match up but Canelo beats him as well

                Doubt it

The style best suited to beat Canelo is to outbox him

There are a few examples of Canelo being outboxed:

                Trout
                Floyd
                Lara

Golovkin easily outjabbed Canelo in the first fight

Way past it Cotto also had limited success

I guess some of Canelo’s allure is that he’s not seemingly unbeatable like Floyd and Pacquio were

No, Canelo is invincible. Ask Adelaide Byrd or Dave Moretti about the possibility of defeating Canelo anywhere in North America.

Kirkland was and still is a mediocre fighter and a poor example of any style of fighting. Just because lousy swarmer with a weak chin Kirkland failed doesn't mean a vastly superior fighter with a high work rate couldn't beat Canelo. I mean a real champion not a never was and never will be like Kirkland.I think a real quality champion like Beterbiev could beat Canelo and stop him in the late rounds with his high volume hard punching relentless attack.

                      I'd say Benavidez
