... he could do what he did...which is get outboxed over 12 rounds...

... it is fair to wonder how much he was really even trying in that fight

... he seemed to have no real urgency in there all night and knew that... was not going to get it done...

maybe he did take some kind of dive and had a wink-wink deal where he wouldn't really go for it and just spar a little bit

according to this muppet... Canelo last 4 opponents meet the criteria for taking a dive

There’s no way anyone could have bought Kovalev because if he won, he makes way more money in the immediate future than could be offered. He’s also a professional athlete who cares more about his pride than a few extra bucks.
And he was outboxing Canelo before getting caught too. Many people had Kovalev winning in their cards.

is it reasonable to ask why Golovkin abandoned his trademark bodywork FOR 24 ROUNDS?

and where was all of that... " fight like a Mexican "... stuff... ?

Kovalev did what he could... just like Golovkin...

Canelo is very sharp, and very punishing... you are not sharp, stop being silly

the same thing happened to Canelo's last 4 opponents you muppet, including Golovkin
GGG's jab was still really effective vs Nelo...of course when you fight top fighters, then the work on both sides is not as effective overall.

Kovalev looked like a neutered version of himself...hardly anything he did was impressive in that fight...GGG and even Jacobs had many more moments of class vs Canelo.

Kovalev was probably ahead of Canelo at the time of the stoppage...but it was basically because there was hardly any action in there...for a natural 175 pounder to not be able to take advantage of his natural edges in there, it showed that Kov was not really in very good form...he was basically just able to keep the smaller man on the outside with a soft jab, and that was basically all the action in all the rounds.

Whatever the reasoning for that...it isn't 100% certain...most would just say he was a little shot, and I would agree.

Wow if you think Canelo was facing a really good version of Kovalev...you must think Canelo is an incredible fighter to have that success against him...I mean to beat a really good version of Kovalev like that, wow you must just think the world of Canelo.

And since you had GGG-Canelo 1 a draw...you must think GGG is an incredible fighter as well, and must similarly think the world of him...good post bro...well said.

Seems like after every big fight now there is some sort of conspiracy theory going or controversy. Used to be only after a close decision or someone quitting, now it’s knockouts too.

Kovalev didn’t give a shit. That’s why he was so casual in the post fight interview, and that’s why he didn’t throw any power jabs. Wether he was still drained from the Yarde fight, or wether he just didn’t care and took a paycheck, it does not change how he was. He was holding back, especially when he had Canelo somewhat hurt. If you guys think Kovalev gave his all in that fight, you guys are delusional.
