Good luck making sense of the dumbest things boxing folks say. Seems like some sh^t that could keep smart ass MIT mfers busy for years to come.
I still don't know how somebody throws a fight by being brutally knocked out

The point there is that Kov knew going in that fighting the way he was fighting was not going to be good enough to get the win.
As your headline suggests...I am not saying he threw a fight, agreeing to get KOed like that...that doesn't add up.
But I think it is reasonable to wonder how much effort Kov was actually putting in to really try and win the fight.
I think that Canelo and co. just knew the word on Kovalev was out...that he can't really hurt guys anymore...his stamina still sucks, especially late in fights...especially if you can get to his body...knowing all that I think it became an easy fight for Canelo to take.
He knew worst case he could do what he did...which is get outboxed over 12 rounds but have it be close enough to where the judges could get him a W with no real controversy.
So yeah I don't really buy into the theory that Kov explicitly took a dive in the sense that he basically agreed to fight easy and not go for it...but I think it is fair to wonder how much he was really even trying in that fight.
Again he seemed to have no real urgency in there all night and knew that fighting like he was, while winning on the average fan card, was not going to get it done in Vegas vs Canelo.
Did he fight like that because that's all he had left and was happy to be blessed with the payday - I think so...but maybe he did take some kind of dive and had a wink-wink deal where he wouldn't really go for it and just spar a little bit.
Again though...seeing the nasty KO...the far more likely scenario imo is that Canelo knew Kov was done and knew he could go 12...and we all know what happens when Canelo goes 12.Comment

I appreciate you coming to me and asking questions man...that's how people learn, so good for you for humbling yourself like that.judges... ?
like, the guys who scored the first Canelo/Golovkin fight a draw ?
and... the guys who ALL said Canelo beat Golovkin in the rematch ?
including the sole judge who awarded the first fight to Golovkin... ?
those judges... ?
when is the judges score official... ?
is the judges score only official when it does not benefit Canelo ?
your posts raise so many questions LMAO
The average neutral fan would have scored that fight for Kovalev...just like they would have scored the 2 Canelo-GGG fights for GGG.
But the judges...for a Canelo fight in Las Vegas...well Kovalev would have known going in that fighting like that, he would never get the decision over Canelo...he couldn't even get good cards vs Ward.
Why would the judges give the win to a 36 year old no-name Russian, who has already shown signs of being past it/already has multiple recent losses...over Canelo, who is their cash cow and in the prime of his life, and makes them all rich.
You have to score Canelo fights yourself and see where your cards come out...most people think he gets very favorable cards when he fights...I tend to agree...but he is a great fighter in his own right.
But with Canelo's inactivity, he imo costs himself a lot of rounds...and he struggles to win clear rounds because of that inactivity as well...especially when he is facing an active fighter as GGG was in their 2 fights, and Kovalev was fairly active with his jab in his fight with Canelo as well.Comment

you may have missed the point in that post
Canelo had little/no chance of getting any credit for beating Kovalev
pretty sure that 1 judge had it a draw, and the other 2 had it real closeComment

You can throw a fight by not making an effort to win. Half assed defense, half assed offense like what Kovalev did, and then claims he was dead tired at round 6. Why do you people think a dive is only just pretend KO? One dimensional mentality I would say.Comment

you are a muppet
is it reasonable to ask why Golovkin abandoned his trademark bodywork FOR 24 ROUNDS?
and where was all of that... " fight like a Mexican "... stuff... ?
Kovalev did what he could... just like Golovkin...
Canelo is very sharp, and very punishing... you are not sharp, stop being silly
the same thing happened to Canelo's last 4 opponents you muppet, including GolovkinComment

oh yea, that could not possibly have anything to do with Canelo's NEXT-LEVEL defence and SHARP punishing counters
line up guys
