What is looking to be the case now is that Kovalev just took the money and made no effort to win. He went into camp and the fight with the mindset that he wasn't ready, didn't have enough time between camps, was far from 100% etc etc. He basically accepted defeat before the first bell sounded, gave a half-assed effort, and got knocked out after trying to coast to a points defeat. Funny that Kovalev has released an incriminating video to draw the attention away from the "fix", "paid to lose" accusations being thrown at GBP/DAZN.

There’s no way anyone could have bought Kovalev because if he won, he makes way more money in the immediate future than could be offered. He’s also a professional athlete who cares more about his pride than a few extra bucks.
