NSB: Do you understand now why Carnelo is #1 P4P? DO YOU?

He chose the shell of Kovalev over younger and more dangerous opponents. Its a business move not about chasing greatness. Can't have things both ways.
Once again, we need to STOP with this nonsense. I said it before. This is a BUSINESS. A NAME is a NAME. That's all that matters. Not you elitists who just want guys to fight the latest 'eye test' that shows up.
Feasting on paper champions is not how things should be.He fought, and is fighting, the right NAMES at the right time - his prime. As a result his resume won't be surpassed in the near future. Which is as it should be.Comment

For someone who has both Floyd AND Canelo in his sig, I struggle to understand how you fail to understand that this is a BUSINESS. "Dare to be great" didn't do jack for anyone. Ask Mikey.
I also find it funny you make the statement in bold yet likely have Crawford at #1 - the poster child for "paper" wins.
"At the end of the day", the best boxers go for NAMES. You beat a name, that's all that matters. Or did you not watch Jones/Green?

His resume of WINS is not. Not compared to the Carne Champion it isn't. That's the point - who did you BEAT? That's all that matters. And people need to start understanding this.
Once you reconcile this simple fact you start to understand why there's no chance in hell that Crawford is #1, why Loma is rated higher than Crawford, and why Carnelo MUST be #1. Because NOBODY on Loma or Crawford or Spence's resume - COMBINED - can touch Carnelo's opposition.Comment

How does beating a faded fighter add to a fighter's legacy? You casuals kill me.
How hard is it to understand that being a top fighter at some point in your career doesn't translate into being a top guy your whole career.
It's so obvious, why does anybody even have to bring it up?Comment

Unfortunately that is the nature of sport's forums. I am not a Canelo hater but a Bivol win would have been more impressive. The fight was offered and Canelo politely declined. It was a smart business decision to fight Kovalev but should it enhance his resume much? Kovalev barely beat a fatigued, inexperienced Yarde and then took this fight on a short layoff. The K.O was impressive but Canelo didn't look very scintillating except for the 11th round. No hating just stating facts! IMHO pound for pound lists are nonsense! Is Canelo the most exciting current fighter? Where is that list?Comment
