Comments Thread For: McGirt: If Kovalev Gets Robbed, Whole World Will See It

By Keith Idec - LAS VEGAS Buddy McGirt is completely confident Sergey Kovalev can out-box Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night. Kovalev's veteran trainer isn't as sure his fighter can win a decision over Alvarez in Las Vegas, even if Kovalev deserves one in their 12-round, 175-pound title fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena. As great as Alvarez has become...

this is why kovalev is such a big underdog. he needs an absolute KO to win. I wouldn't even be surprised if kovalev somehow gets dq'ed for ko'ing canelo.

Is there already an assigned ref or judge?

Man, imagine Tony Weeks and Adalaide Byrd getting that call.

... such an "awful accident" might happen only if Canelo steps (by mistake, of course) into a Kova's straight right... or into a stiff-stiff jab...

If Kovalev gets robbed, Canelo fans won't see that. They'll just say Cashnelo kicked Kovalev's ass and schooled him easy, even with a 115-113 scorecard.

The whole world has seen Canelo scorecard after Canelo scorecard and a good number of them are so gullible that they start to believe them. Like the social experiments in the past where actors identify a blue object as red and the test subjects say they see red too because they want to go with what others are seeing.

The whole world has seen countless robberies and it's not made a blind bit of difference to the official result; Canelo-GGG (definately 1, if not 2), Canelo-Lara, Wilder-Fury, Pac-Horn, Kovalev-Ward 1, Lewis-Holyfield 1, Foreman-Briggs, DLH-Trinidad, JCC Snr-Whitaker, Bradley-Pac 1,Pac-Marquez 3, Ottke-Reid, DLH-Sturm, Sturm-Macklin, Abraham-Smith 1, Burns-Relikh, McDonnell-Solis 1........ and that's just with a few minute of thought on fights during my time. Older fans of the sport and true boxing historians would be able to provide countless more.
Unless there is an official system of inquiry and punishment brought in for judges, then unfortunately we will continue to see robberies for as long as money talks.
