He would get ALOT of credit. I mean he would have beaten the GOAT. Even if it's a past prime GOAT that's still something nobody else could do including Manny No Heart Pacquiao

Floyd struggled with guys like that, he also throws unorthodox punches to break down defences like his downward hook.

Floyd couldn't hold him, barely a reach advantage, not sure how Floyd could win.

A bigger champions should always be favorite to beat the smaller one.

GGG was a small middleweight so not too much would have been drained from him at 154.
Yet GGG couldnt hurt Dervenchenko, Canelo, or Danny Jacobs.

Yeah sorry Floyd UDs GGG in a stinker with holds

Big middleweight and GGG has been on the decline for 3 years now

And pretty sure he hurt all of them, dropped two of them.

Floyd would have been brutalized, nothing more important than Floyd's health, and that is why it was never going to happen.

It really shouldn't have, it was a mis-match. We got weight categories for a reason.

IF ggg Beat Mayweather @ 154 in 2013, how much credit would he get for this victory?

Mayweather was 36 at the time.
I have almost no doubt GGG would have knocked him out then. GGG was still prime then and Mayweather was old and not even big for 147. His father wisely turned the fight down saying GGG was too big. GGG would have received lots of credit if he won even though Mayweather was much older and smaller. He would have been the only one to ever defeat Mayweather so it would be a great win for GGG.

no way could Golovkin beat Mayweather at 154

            for 2 reasons...

            1) if you can make 154, Mayweather will almost certainly beat you... a JMW is not big enough to beat the technical enigma that is Mayweather... it would take a very special fighter, and there have been very few JMW's who fit that description... Golovkin is not one of them

            2) Golovkin would be dead at the weight... he would not be GGG, he would only be GG

also... I do not believe he would have taken that fight at 154

He wasn't lying and had no reason to lie about being able to make 154 and be strong at that time, He really wanted that fight for the money and the prestige if he won. He would have been foolish to fight at a weight that drained him. He had been boxing and making weight for so many years and knew what weight he could comfortably make.

so, the guy who totally refused to drop a single pound for little old faded 153lb Cotto... would have dropped to 154 to fight Mayweather... ?

                yea right !!

I don't think Bullshltkin would drop to 154 to fight Floyd SNR !!

he would fight Mayweather at 154, like he promised to fight Ward at 168

Very ****** statement. If GGG knew Floyd would in embarrass him why the hell would he ask for a shot at Mayweather's 154 pound title and why did Mayweather turn the challenge down flat??????? Very ****** statement!

Plodkin couldn't hit Mayweather with a handful of rice
