lmao Andrade is NOT considered the elite of the division? That wbo belt is really losing rank. This writer does not even recognize it

Wish Dervy would have beaten Trip G. This guy sounds like a ton more fun to have around than some of the other 160's.

😄 nobody is ducking Charlo. He's ducking anyone relevant. The last time he stepped up was Julian Williams.

It ilegal to punch below the belt. It's illegal to push down on your opponents head. It's illegal to rabbit punch. It's illegal to push your opponent. Scoring punches are punches that land with the knuckle portion of the gloves. Not the forearm, wrist or palm.Actually those punches are illegal. They aren't scoring punches. I scored the fight for Derev when I saw it for the first time by the way. He fought hard and he bent the rules. I give him credit for what he accomplished but not for the crap he pulled.

I scored it for Derev when I first watched it but once I watched it back, I too realized how dirty he fought. I was shocked to see how many punches were low, didn't land or weren't technically scoring punches. For as seasoned as Chenko is, it's surprising that his punch technique is actually pretty ****. I can't remember if he measured Golovkin but if he wasn't warned, it's pretty weird that he wasn't, considering the ref warned Golovkin about measuring when he fought Stevens. He fought a good fight and had a hell of a tank, but he actually didn't do as well as I thought. He got saved too at the end of whatever round it was where Harvey stepped in too early.

Did his corner protest the tactics used by Derevyanchenko?? His corner post fight didn't even bring it up at least in the interviews I saw.

Is he still only a gatekeeper? I don't understand why you are putting so much emphasis on official scorecards. Boxing is the most corrupt sport in the world and the scoring system is ridiculously subjective and poorly implemented. Fair score cards are like pink ****ing unicorns.
If he performs well but comes up short, he gets credit. Not P4P-level credit. P4P MUST mean wins. Not "you tried". And those wins have to be against guys that are a threat. Right now, Charlo is the next clear threat I see. Charlo has WAY more power and accuracy, from what I can see of him. What we don't know is who has the higher ring IQ of the two. Which is why I want to see it.

But in the meantime, he's certainly no gatekeeper; it's not like he's losing 8+ rounds UD. But it's a disservice to the fighters to go around giving "P4P" trophies for effort.

And as far as the scorecards go you have two choices. One, get the knockout. Figure it out. Two, be SO much better than your opponent that you get the scores every time. Floyd managed it, Ward managed it, Calslappy managed it, Menayothin managed it. AT some point we need to hold the fighters responsible for showing up SIGNIFICANTLY better than their opponent, instead of "I gave away rounds" etc etc.

Canelo doesn't fight anyone in their prime... Baldomir, Mosely, Cotto, Golovkin, Jacobs and now Kovalev were all either too old or past their peak and the rest on his resume were bums on not on his level. Derevyanchenko is all wrong for Canelo. The movement, angles, workrate and power of SD would have Canelo in sheet. Its well known Canelo has slow legs, this fight would be his nightmare.
