How would it? No one knows these guys lol...look at all other non-Canelo/Pac PPVs and see where the numbers are...a lot don't break 100k...unless I see some hard data I would just assume PBC is inflating these numbers to try and make Spence look like a star, hoping it sticks...and also helping leverage for any negotiations with Crawford and Spence/their stable.

Show me what Spence and Porter made for this fight and that will be a good way to tell what the PPV buys are...if it is the 2 million each number purse that was floated...then it is obvious that the PPV only sold around 100k max.

How are we ever going to know what both fighters made? They just had a guarantee of 2M and then upside on the PPV.

No one knows these guys? Spence just did over 350k buys against Garcia and had 47k in the Dallas stadium. They also get by far the biggest promotion with FOX. No network promotes close as well as FOX.

And Evan Rutkowski has NO incentive to prop up PBC at all. In fact, he was a consultant for the Crawford/Khan PPV and worked at HBO. Even he thinks it gets close to 300k buys.

Spence is a star period. He will do similar numbers vs DSG as well. I bet the gate surpasses 2M or gets close to 2M. Next fight they will do good numbers at the Barclays. So he's showing he can draw pretty much anywhere.

I watched the fight at the movies and check tickets at others near me and they was packed besides like 2 small room ones. So I think them doing this good is believable.

What area of the US are you in? What other fights had similar turn outs there?

I just didn't see any buzz for this fight in casual settings/among my casual friends...no one knows these guys

PS - Sneak your spirits in.
PSS - almost a fight in the theater. Doesn't get more live than that.
Same! Apart from being there live it's the best way to watch the fights. Got four great fights on a giant screen with great sound and a bunch of boxing fans going nuts.

I watched the fight in a theater in florida and it had a good crowd.

FOX consistently promoting fights goes a long way. Especially since Spence fought on PPV before and Porter has been in multiple fights that have drawn 1 Million plus views on TV.

I swear some of y'all 'boxing fans' sit around here rooting for fights to do badly. It was a great fight on a great card, I hope it did well and as many people got to see it as possible, I don't understand how any 'fan' would hope for anything else.

Not rooting against Porter or Spence...just would be very surprised if it did over 100k buys...no one casual really knows these guys, and about 100k would put it in line with other similar recent PPVs imo.

I will say though that yeah I will always root against paying $80 for a PPV...why would anyone root for that to succeed...and paying high priced PPVs also kind of contradicts your point of hoping as many people as possible got to see it ya know.

But yeah I will be interested to see what the payouts are for this fight for Porter and Spence.
