And why was the Porter fight not initially booked as a PPV before they made certain adjustments? And why were the undercards mostly composed of at least a Mexican in there?

I do give credit to PBC for carefully building up Spence career and they made him a big star. After all, he’s their favorite son
Why wasn't he on PPV before Garcia? Which fight should have been on PPV? You build a fighter up to the point that he can be successful on PPV.

So why wasn't Mikey on PPV before Spence? What are we even doing here?

I am seeing a lot of cognitive dissonance in this thread!

The PBC is boxing in AMERICA! In the near future if things
continue as is,The NEW PBC boxing fans will not know Crawford nor Canelo!

Al Haymon has hit the reset button on boxing in America. America: Here are your top
fighters and they are NOT anyone outside of the PBC!

Honestly I think people are greatly discounting the awesome job FOX did at promoting this fight.

It was everywhere on their NFL & NCAA football broadcasts, and not just commercials, but also with in-game plugs from the announcers during timeouts and such. Reminding such a huge audience that the fight was coming up was big. I admit that I forgot as not a huge fan of either guy.

The usual suspects on this forum MAD So much for being "Boxing Fans" Right

Yes it is very much believable if you live in America and you understand how BIG of a Network FOX is and how much Views a Dallas Cowboys Football Game on FOX get every Sunday. Cowboys vs Saints just had 24.7 MILLION VIEWS this past Sunday

FOX gets most of the credit based how they Promote their PPV's by Promoting it when other far more popular sports are on like NFL and NCAA Football which consistently Draw Big Ratings every Saturday and Sunday. They Ran Spence Jr vs Porter Promo Clips repeatedly and it paid off and the big key here is that it cost them absolutely NOTHING to promote their own events on their own network compared to Promoters typically having to PAY to run their Commercials leading up to a fight

Even seen DAZN jump in on the Action paying for a Commercial Spot during a NFL Game which is Smart...

Be a fan of BOXING and not just Groupies for Certain Boxers, Certain Promoters and Certain Networks! You will enjoy the sport better when you appreciate, watch and support them ALL

I don't care if it did 1 buy or 1 million buys, Spence and Crawford need to fight by the end of 2020. Enough with the excuses about who needs who and who's the A side. We don't need guys acting like Pac and Mayweather when nobody even know who the fk they are.

Yeah I agree with the build up and PBC did a good job in building up their favorite son’s career. But let’s not try to pretend that they didn’t use some of the Mexican following to build up Spence’s market value in the form of Mikey Garcia.

Do you think they would have made it a PPV if Spence fought Ugas after Ocampo? Why do you think Spence turned down an Ugas fight and accepted the LW Mikey fight?

Huh? Now we are talking about turning down Ugas? When did that happen?

They made Spence vs Garcia a PPV, because well it made sense. Both fighters had solid names and it made perfect sense to put that on PPV. Both fighters were at the point of their careers where it was time to enter the PPV market.

And here we are now with Spence solidifying himself as an PPV attraction and should be on PPV for majority of his remaining career.

Here are some articles of Spence stating that he preferred fighting Vargas than his next in line challenger Ugas at that time

Yordenis Ugas wants to fight Errol Spence Jr. next, but the feeling isn’t mutual. Spence said during a post-fight press conference late Saturday night that he w

Cuban welterweight contender Yordenis Ugas is not planning to back away from his mandatory world title shot at current IBF king Errol Spence (24-0, 21 KOs). Uga

The point is not about Spence turning down an Ugas fight. It's about 'what if' he fought Ugas after Ocampo. If Spence was such a lone PPV worthy, would they have made it a PPV between both? Remember, Spence fought Mikey too after Ocampo.

Spence building-up market was about the right person (credit to Mikey with Mexican fanbase) and the right time with careful management (credit to PBC). It's not about Spence being lone PPV worthy. Let's give credits to where they are due. Mikey played a major part of that build-up

An American heavyweight champion, who is as charismatic and solid in an interview as Wilder is, whose entire aim is to knock everyone out, who stands as the unified/undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, is a license to print money. Fight that idea if you want.

Showtime has Claressa Shields this weekend, another show set for the end of October, Jermall Charlo defending his WBC belt at Barclays, plus at least this brewing Davis vs Gamboa fight for this year (Spence-Danny being pencilled in for January, after Wilder-Ortiz 2 in November, also messed with Manny Pacquiao's schedule). And that's just the obvious stuff.

Beyond that, DAZN has already made it known that there "shock and awe" strategy didn't work, and they've already set their plans to aggressively cut their budgets, because few fighters were taking the bait, and the fans weren't coming on board the way they'd hoped.

                      Nice try though
