Why do you like Antonio Margarito?

So you two like Margarito because everyone is scared of him? I'll go ahead and assume that's true...so...you like scary guys? You said nothing about his ability, or his style, nothing about personality or determination....you said....people are scared of him, that must mean he's amazing. Um..so...I don't think you helped the maker of this thread understand Margarito's fanbase any better...and...I don't think you made Antonio look any better either...

Have you watched a lot of JT (seriously)? I will give you that his last 3 fights weren't that exciting or beautiful but they were his 3 toughest fights. What I like about him is that he has a great jab and follow up right hand. He has good power and is a tough, tough kid. I didn't think all too much of him until the 2nd Hopkins fight where early on in a clinch he hit Bernard in the back of the head a couple of times, then he smiled. It was showing Hopkins that he could fight Hopkins' style of fight... dirty and ugly. Plus he showed heart in the 1st Hopkins fight by not being knocked down when he was exhausted and fighting with his first severe cut. I like to see guys respond well to adversity and I think JT does that inside the ring.

Taylor's last three fights were with two of the best p4p fighters in the world. He was very competitve fights with them win, lose or draw.

But what really interests me is the fact that Floyd Mayweather has some serious respect for this mother****er as does Shane and Winky...hell you think Oscar would fight Anotnio? Why doesnt someone expose him real quick if he is simply not that good?

The guy is the definition of avoided and that might not interest you but I promise you the casual fan will turn to a cult memeber and say "so why wont Mayweather fight this guy?" and the cult memeber will reply "that a good ****ing question"

I have some freinds who write for ********** and they say when you see Antonio Margarito and Floyd Mayweather standing next to each other oeven the most diehard Floyd fans say to themselves "holy ****" in person the size difference is supposedly jaw dropping.

I'm neither a Floyd lover nor a Margarito hater. I also was not trying to insult anyone. I did not believe that saying you like a boxer because everyone is scared of them helps people understand the merits behind that fighter. Yes, I understand Scap has a valid right to feel that way, and I'm not trying to say otherwise. I was just saying, to help the cause of Margarito, that argument doesn't make me, who is also nuetral about him, like him anymore. Doesn't mean what he said can't be acknowledged, respected or praised. I simply did not see it helping Margarito...all I meant. No apologies needed-this is a good topic and one that should be debated...why are people fans of Margarito?

I love the fact that Floyd who is always saying show me the ****ing money, Ill fight anyone...gets the money thrown in his face and he walks aways...

Couple that with the fact that Margarito is a straight up stalker and you have got me at hello or whatever the ****...

I agree with that. There is a major size difference. A few threads ago I was saying I could see Antonio fighting Winky easier than Mayweather, despite their current weight classes. I think that the size difference is a major factor favoring Margarito in a fight between the two, but it doesn't make me like him anymore standing on his own.

Well, Njord, I don't think anyone is trying to get you to like him. Rather we are only trying to get people to understand why we are intrigued by Tony. There's a certain mystery in why he is being avoided, and it's not purely because he is a nobody. I think the only one to not explain the positives of his style is Charlie here.
