i like that margarito is in exciting fights where he knocks many off his opponents out or stops them. He has a very high workrate with good power and just goes in there to exchange blow which he knows the fans like.
I was hoping mayweather would fight him because beyond all the talk of legacy, which i dont say is bull**** at all, baldomir will give him less money and less of a fight. he'll probably get lower ppv numbers too, baldomir is a ****en sittin duck. baldy should go after cotto or hatton who's styles and size make them more vulnerable, especially cotto (but notice he didn't even mention margarito).
Now there's talk of him fighting Rivera which would be an exciting fight but i dont think he should move up to 154 since he's still making weight easily, he should take on quintana, williams, collazo or zab in my opinion. all these fights would give us a more complete answer of where he is at. he think he would beat any of those guys and then demand a bigger fight at 147 or then at 154.Comment

What do i like about Margarito ....
I like the fact that he goes out and gives it his 110% all the time which is sometimes bad because his nerves get the better of him and he looks a little stiff.
I also like the fact that he is a heavy hitter and he throws every punch in the boook, and he dont stop punching. Also sometimes he'll get hit with a good punch and he acknowledges a good punch and he realizes its time for him to step it up.
He is an underdog story and ill admit i root for the underdogs a lot.
He is not my favorite fighter but he is one of those fighters that i wish the best to and that they get the chance they deserve.Comment

I'm pretty neutral on him. He has no real redeeming qualities, outside of a solid chin and a non-stop punching style. He has good power but not spectacular. He is slow'ish, with bad footwork and average handspeed. His defense is average....his offense is his best defense.
I think he's a solid fighter though and he tries hard. There really are no REAL reasons to love him or hate him. Unless of course you love him because he's related to you or you hate him because he slapped your sister at a sleazy bar in Cancun.Comment

WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margaritio has responded to the call out of WBA junior middleweight champion Jose Rivera:
