Strength training with heavy weights and low reps, as opposed to muscle building a la Bruno or Joshua is highly beneficial for boxing, helping with punching power.
You would compliment this with higher reps on your smaller muscles such as the rotator cuff and rear delts to prevent imbalances and injuries.
Front squats, incline bench and deadlifts are your bread and butter as these build strength while minimising muscle mass which could force you out of your weight class.
Strength and athleticism go hand in hand. Just be sure to use correct technique. Hire someone to teach you if necessary.
Hope this helps, best of luck.Last edited by Cobra Curry; 09-25-2019, 10:22 AM.

The main thing as a boxer is to avoid becoming too muscular in that you may become immobile (Joshua). You want to ideally have a balance between strength and mobility / agility.

The powerlifting style doesn't tend to build too much bulk in my experience.
