Wilders honourable loyalty to Showtime.

Bull**** Wilder made it clear he wasn’t interested in a multi fight deal. First thing he mentioned after negotiations failed. The other two fights were added to sweeten the deal. He could’ve negotiated just two AJ fights for a guaranteed $100million with add ons if they go past certain number of subscribers and DAZN would’ve been very generous to him.
He needs to pray Ruiz wins because if AJ wins, to get a fight with AJ - he would’ve to beg and accept anything he’s offered. The Fury safety blanket is gone - Fury ain’t fighting him. Fury is out for at least a year and he’s definitely not fighting Wilder any time soon.
Only Wilder can be loyal to Showtime and miss out on tens of millions, then run to FOX for extra $1million. LMAO.Comment

Dazn is not going to be in boxing much longer.
These Dazn deals are never going to see their full maturity.
Furthermore. Hearn has pissed off every US network.
Anyone signed to Dazn or Matchroom are going to be without a US home in the near future.Comment

That’s why you negotiate, which he never did. In Wilder’s warped mind, he thought he’s Mayweather and he could earn $100m in one fight, hence he kept talking about $100m and generational wealth, lol.
Mayweather vs Pac was different because both boxers were clearly the best and biggest of that era by a mile and they didn’t even need a belt. Mayweather was the hated moneyman and PPV king and Pacman was the people’s champ. Wilder vs AJ was US vs UK and battle of undisputed between two undefeated champs. The only draw was AJ whose profile wasn’t that big in the US to begin with. And Wilder isn’t even a PPV star and he barely puts bums on seats.
Also, the deal was guaranteed and now that AJ lost - he would still get the money regardless. DAZN can’t renegade on a guaranteed deal unless they want to be sued for their last penny.Last edited by BangEM; 09-21-2019, 08:41 AM.Comment

DAZN isn’t going anywhere. It’s going to expand into other US sports and more countries.
It threw money around because that’s what every new business does to get its feet wet. And now that it has achieved the first phase - it’s going to be more prudent with its spending. Marquee names are still to get big cheques but low/mid tier boxers would get paid according.Comment
