I have no problem with what Canelo is saying! Let GGG beat Andrade @ 160, or Callum Smith @ 168, and then DAZN can ask nicely! Until then f**k GGG!

GGG is fighting a man who Canelo gave up his IBF title to avoid.

        Lesser of 5 evils

Canelo talks about legacy and HOF. If it was all about that, he would be fighting OG or AB in that division. Not Sergey. Sergey is very beatable. Just look at his last fight. Not taking anything from SK, but its a winnable fight. He geta destroyed by Olek or Artur. Ijs

There are MWs and SMWs who are riskier opponents for Canelo than a badly faded 37 year old Kovalev, and GGG is one of them.

Canelo is scared of losing to Golovkin and always has been. He couldn't get a legit win over him in 2 tries, despite stalling for years and using PEDs. Maybe when GGG is 40 years old, Canelo will give it another try.

I completely agree what clenelo said about De la ho. But you are fighting all the weakest champions , how are you taking a risks. Kova is shot with a fragile body. This Fight won't go 4 rds. Fielding🥊

Let's access this, ggg’s has faced Jacobs and Canelo in 3 of his last 5 fights and is about to face derbey who Canelo wanted to fight just 2 months ago. Since the Lara fight 5 yrs ago, the biggest risk opponents Canelo has faced have been ggg and Jacobs (who ggg beat first) other than that, he's faced low level comp other than a much older and smaller Cotto. I'm not seeing a huge gap in their comp in the past 5 yrs. As far as risk, does anyone think he'd be facing Kovalev if this was the same Kovalev we saw up until through first ward fight? No chance. He minimized the risk in selecting this opponent.

I think Kovalev will give Canelo a harder fight than GGG also. So I agree with Canelo that DLH should not overlook Kovalev and talking about fights of 2020.

Kovalev is not a showcase fight, he’s a guy that can hand Canelo a loss, and a really bad one...like a stoppage loss. From 168 to 175 out of the top 20 best from those two weight classes, i’d put Kovalev as a top 3 fighter. Kovalev is not a showcase fight like Steve Rolls, or a helpless smaller guy going up in weight like Kell Brook. Legit power, size, and good resume. Sure he’s soft to the body, but you gotta get close to get to his body. As we don’t know how Canelo will react if he gets tagged while trying to dig into Kovalev’s body.
You are spot on. I know that many posters are trying to diminish any accomplishment by Canelo should he win, but Kovalev is potentially a much more difficult fight for Canelo than GGG. It presents a tough challenge for both fighters. Folks should appreciate that.
