How hard is it to accept when your favorite ducks another fighter?

Well for me it's not that hard.

I'm a Floyd fan but I can't make out of this world excuses why he won't fight Margarito. In fact I'm one of those who's antagonizing him and some the other fans here for justifying why the goddam fight shouldn't happen.

We can't cover up what is obvious. PBF is not acting the way a recognized #1 p4p fighter should be acting and it's a shame.

Same with Arce.

Though I will recognize him as the best fighter in the sport until he loses, I will lose mad respect for Mayweather if he fights Baldomir or Spinks next. I will lose virtually all respect for the man if he fights for less than 8 million, no matter who the opponent is.

though its obvious floyd is the best i have gone from being a big fan to only having a passing interest in his career at this point. i dont really understand what hes doing but i dont really care either. either he will put up or shut up in the long run, and when he is done he will be judged. im not going to be any more impressed by his undefeated record than i am by nicloai valuev's (exaggeration) if he doesent start fighting the guys that he should be fighting.

Who is Margarito that anyone should be ducking him, who has he beat? If Floyd doesn't want to fight in Oct who are we to say he ducking anybody, If your the bigger name you shouldn't have to jump at the chance to fight a nobody, it should be the other way around. What are you pissed that if PBF fight Baldomir he'll be considered the 147 king without having to fight you boy, but still you say Margarito's the 147 king, what has he done to deserve that title? Margarito's a 154/160 lbs fighter would couldn't handle it so he decided to stay at WW, I guarantee you & you can quote me on this; Floyd Mayweather Jr. might not retire undefeated, but it won't be Margarito who beats him. I'm also almost positive that once Margarito gets his ass handed to him by Floyd or whoever the **** else, you'll jump on the next guy' jock who seems like someone you hope will beat PBF. IMHO it seems you like to spend more time bashing Floyd the talking boxing,so what the **** are you doing here?

would it be fair to say that all fans are really "enablers", in your opinion? are most fans fans of the sport itself - or are most just cheerleaders for certain guys? i think fans - for the most part, spend more time rationalizing the choices of their favorites rather than criticizing them (when deserved). would that be a fair assessment?

i do not know if i am a defeatist or a realist but i do not believe that this ideology of fight the best, at their best and damn the alphabets will ever universally prevail again. my definition of ducking relates to the hagler's of this world who are frozen out universally for years because of their abilities.

i think that is why i sometimes struggle with the concept- as the 'ducker' sometimes will face a better quality opponent than the ducked if the conditions are right. which may of been happening with lacy all along, like you said, or with mayweather/margarito.
