How will it feel to know he ducked and dodged a man just to whoop his ass, if he does? Will you say, "Aww...Floyd didn't believe in himself...but I do!"

P.S. How does it feel to need to pick on all the Floyd fans by asserting how afraid he is of Margarito? Let them enjoy their guy, you enjoy yours. Why are you SO wrapped up in the 'Mayweather ducked Margarito' Novel that is published daily on these boards?
Great post, don't agree with it but respect you opinion, i dont think he's afraid of any of those fighters(I know Hatton doesn't want to fight him & Cotto hasn't even fought at WW yet), but unfotunatly(& we all wish it wasn't like this) but who a fighter fights is a major buisness decision, that require alot of thought & you have to factor in you long term plans, not just who the people want you to fight.

Oh & I think Leonard ducked Pryor, Pryor called him out to his face, I love SRL but i call it like i see it.

        re scap:
you bring up an interesting point.

would it be fair to say that all fans are really "enablers", in your opinion? are most fans fans of the sport itself - or are most just cheerleaders for certain guys? i think fans - for the most part, spend more time rationalizing the choices of their favorites rather than criticizing them (when deserved). would that be a fair assessment?

i do not know if i am a defeatist or a realist but i do not believe that this ideology of fight the best, at their best and damn the alphabets will ever universally prevail again. my definition of ducking relates to the hagler's of this world who are frozen out universally for years because of their abilities.

i think that is why i sometimes struggle with the concept- as the 'ducker' sometimes will face a better quality opponent than the ducked if the conditions are right. which may of been happening with lacy all along, like you said, or with mayweather/margarito.

Margarito needs to prove himself just like everyone else. His resume is not a list of triumphant defeats over top ranked men, or respected contenders. Gomez? Please. I'd respect him more if he fought any ranked man at this point and won in impressive fashion. Hatton, Collazo, yes even a Judah or Paul Williams - anything to show me how he does against top ranked fighters. Cintron is the only notch on his belt for me thus far. I can't see why you wouldn't knock Margarito for not moving past this Floyd **** and finding another top opponent?

I was being sarcastic, trying to call things as the maker of this thread would. I don't think Floyd is ducking anyone, but simply stuffing his pockets with money.

I just thought of an interesting point. What is this is what Bob Arum wanted? For boxing forums to be fuming at mouth over the arguement of Floyd ducking Margarito for 8 million? What if they want people to say, "Floyd...you took a fight for less money? Coward." and force him to fight Top Rank's Margarito or lose face. Lie or not, everyone is trusting Bob Arum's supposed offer like it came from the great lord of all boxing and couldn't be a business tactic. Arum has been known to be a slippery eel...and the open claim of his offer to Mayweather, true or not, is having the desired effect.

Another great point, I'd give you Karma but I did already awhile back. I don't care if people disagree with me(even if it was just a joke), i give props for stating you claim in an intelligent manner. As for Arum(& most promoters) you can be guaranteed that 99% of the time whatever comes out of their mouth is total B.S. but people still make outrageous claims about things that they don't even know to be fact. I'd agree that Mayweather is dodging Margarito if Margarito beat Baldomir & Floyd still doesn't fight him, of course if Floyds at 154 already then it's a different story.

Well for me it's not that hard.

I'm a Floyd fan but I can't make out of this world excuses why he won't fight Margarito. In fact I'm one of those who's antagonizing him and some the other fans here for justifying why the goddam fight shouldn't happen.

We can't cover up what is obvious. PBF is not acting the way a recognized #1 p4p fighter should be acting and it's a shame.

The only time one of my top favorite fighters ever ducked anyone was Corrales giving Casamayor the snub by denying him a rubbermatch. But now that this fight is happening, I can't get mad anymore. Besides, instead of fighting Casamayor a third time, he fought an undefeated and much more dangerous Freitas, followed by two fights with Castillo. So it's not really like Corrales has ever ducked anyone anyway. He's only taken tougher fights.
