I'm not saying it's not a challenge, i'm not saying Kovalev is a can, I am saying this ain't the same Kovalev that would've made me say "Damn Canelo really is going in up against the odds something serious" as I would've said a few years ago. I'm sorry but Kovalev has nothing but size and power on Canelo, the guy ain't even the same fighter he was when he fought ward. The fact Canelo even has a chance of winning this fight is tellign AF and people will chalk it up as hate but can't nobody here say with a straight face that when Kovalev was truly still the Krusher before he was a publicly known drunk and assaulting people you would've given Alvarez more than a 5% shot at winning that fight.
I just mentioned Kovalev was past his best days. Where did I say it was a monumental achievement?

I just feel that Canelo deserves credit because he's taking a risk fighting a much bigger fighter in a division he's never fought at and he's only fought a soft touch against Fielding at 168. Kovalev still has enough in the tank to present a good challenge.

You're not even slightly intrigued by this fight?

you can use the wording as pleases you , but those will be facts...
he is a current MW fighter trying to get a title 2 weight classes above... no technicism can change that acheivement...
He’s a mw because it fights the narrative here..man is a listed champion at 168 but he’s a 160lb fighter...go figure..like he didn’t become champion at 168 most recently..which means he is currently a champion at 168...so I’m sure that means we should ignore the belt status and claim he never won that belt either..

I honestly think there are more challenging fights against wayyy fresher fighters he won’t even look at. Him and Golovkin have to get to the point they fight those guys. Golovkin is on his way out once he finishes this contract and is in the twilight of his career due to age but literally jumping up to fight the most shopworn or weakest champions while guys like Bivol are like let’s do this just goes with the pattern I’m seeing right now. Same way he did with cotto and Mosley..capturing fighters near the end of their careers and being celebrated like a big achievement. The only compelling part of this fight is how bad the score cards will be at the end of the night imo or how long it takes for Kovalev to fold from a gut punch.

he is a MW who happens to challenge him self vs bigger foes...
he can weight 160 on the scales, but his balls can take him all the way up to 175...

Challenge himself is debatable are Chavez and Felding challenges in your opinion? Yes I know you guys have a fascination with Canelos balls and all but let’s talk about challenges and how manly he is for a second...why didn’t we hear a peep when Bivol said he was free to whip his azz? So again, he’s going up a division yet again to fight the worst active champion in the division...note how many other champions at 168 and 175 there are and let’s examine the two he’s selected thus far...so you really up for a debate on challenges, credit, manliness, and the overhyping of every thing he does? Because I sure am. And I don’t dislike Canelo, I don’t like the clenbuterol bullshhh and I don’t like his diva like antics but he’s a great fighter I just think people celebrate him for bullshhh they wouldn’t accept from other fighters.... and praise him while bashing others for doing the same. I also think his record is blown way out of proportion like WAY out of proportion in terms of quality but he’s still a great fighter and among the best currently active.

any mw that fights any top 5 at 175 deserves a lot of credit, this thread was created to discredit that... no need to say more...

Exactly, He has the money now to get the top tier designer PED's from China/Russia. So I just assume now he is on something.

Kovalev won't fold against Canelo. Canelo doesn't have the tool set to deal with that jab constantly in his face. Sorry but the size difference with be stark IF they fight.

Kovalev is not the fighter he once was but Canelo isn't big and strong enough to take advantage of that age.

Discredit? Pointing out he is a PED cheat isn't discrediting him, its pointing out FACTS, also saying that he has THE INCOME NOW to purchase and maintain the expensive designer PED's is also facts.

Get Canelo's scrotum out of your mouth. Human's almost never change their routine if its working for them.

I hear ya man, sucks that the younger, fresher fighters aren't getting their chance, but Kovalev is still a much better fight than Fielding, Khan, Chavez Jr., or Liam Smith. And Kovalev isn't as past it as Mosley or Cotto when Canelo went 12 rounds with both.
