Him protecting his mandatory spot makes perfect sense. Any manager who would ask him to risk a guaranteed shot at the belt should be fired.

Golovkin's team on the other hand has been openly vocal about not wanting to fight him. I've actually never seen a coach come out and protest a mandatory spot given to a champion the way Abel Sanchez did. And still you people refuse to believe that Golovkin could actually want to avoid Charlo, all of this because of your deep seated biases and image of Golovkin you've made up. Sanchez clearly saw something in Charlo he didn't like, or else he would've never came out the way he did.
Idk man I don't really see the rationale for people saying Charlo really wants that fight...he pretty clearly imo mainly moved up because he was a huge JMW, and with his brother at JMW and not many other options, going to 160 was a better overall move.

He also never really fought any of the top guys at 154...not that all of that was his fault imo...but he hasn't really fought anyone that good at MW now and has had like 5 fights...if he was fighting anyone and everyone I would agree that he seems like he is willing to fight anyone/GGG.

But at the present time he seems like he is being carefully managed...and no problem with that on my end..I actually advocated for his team to do that when he was coming up to 160 and his 'fans' on here wanted to feed him to GGG or another top guy right away.

I do think it is time for his team to find him a big fight though - I think him vs Andrade makes a lot of sense and could probably get done - or if they want to stay in house, he can fight someone at 168 on PBC...but I think it is kind of now or never for them/him to put him in with someone else of good quality.

I also don't really see the angle of him protecting his mandatory...the Canelo fight is the prize for everyone, but even if Charlo has that spot there is no way Canelo would fight him unless he wants to...and at this point with what Charlo has done, he is unfortunately still a low reward high risk fight for anyone around 160.

I just don't really see the rationale of saying Charlo 'clearly' wanted that fight...unless prompted I have NEVER heard him mention GGG's name, and rarely heard him even call out Canelo...to be honest I think he is pretty comfortable fighting lesser tier guys for decent money right now, rather than stepping up to the big time and possibly being badly exposed...he was never really a great amateur/guy with skills, always gotten by on natural ability.

If he stepped up and got embarrassed or KOed, all that shine is gone and the 'boogeyman' status some are giving him disappears...yeah from analyzing all of that I just don't really see the rationale that anyone can see either Charlo or GGG wants to fight the other one...not from being scared...but they both have other options that are less risk/same or even more reward.

Good post man...I would say I expect Canelo to get criticism if he doesn't fight Kov...but after the 180 some fans did when Dervy was mandated to fight Nelo (vs their take when he was mandated to fight GGG)...well I just lost all hope there lol

With all due respect man...in the same post...you said before that if GGG fought SD, then it proved he only fought certain styles...and then if he didn't fight him, it proved that he ducked him and was scared of him.

Case in point that GGG literally can't win with some posters on here...and it's fine, I just think being a little more conscious of your biases would hopefully help some guys keep it a little more real.

For the record - fighters almost every fight take the highest reward/lowest risk fight there is...there is a reason why Floyd didn't fight Spence after Spence busted up his eye in sparring...that was a much better fight than Berto...but Berto sold better and was an easier fight.

And I think it is splitting hairs in a way to choose among Andrade, Charlo and SD...though I do feel SD is the best matchup for GGG...but they are pretty clearly top 5 right now...anyone saying Andrade/Charlo really wants the GGG fight, yet GGG doesn't, I don't really see the logic there

kid... Canelo did not say that Golovkin fighting Charlo and Andrade made "no sense at all"... Bullshltkin did

stop blaming Canelo whenever Bullshltkin lies to his idiot fanbase
Wanting to fight the other best guy in the division after a razor thin decision in a good fight that fans want to see again, and also happens to be arguably the biggest fight in the sport = “begging for a handout” lol. This is what fans of the sport should want.

Also, derev is not a “****ty opponent selection”...but the fact remains, he’d be fighting canelo if he wasn’t being swerved. But yea, canelo’s opponent for his mexican sept date is so much better...oh wait.

              wtf ?

on the other thread, Hearn is bragging about how Golovkin has sooooo many options... like, Andrade, Smith, Saunders, Jacobs... lmao

DAZN and Hearn played themselves... G is not gonna take those fights

G will win the IBF... and then defend it against scrubs, while waiting for Canelo

he will never unify, and he will never move to 168

So who ducked who at 154 and 160 - did Andrade duck Canelo or did Canelo duck Andrade?

GGG will fight whoever DAZN says lol...they are paying him $100 million and unlike Canelo GGG has no real other options to make close to that amount of money...DAZN probably wants 2 more Canelo-GGG fights to try and make some money, but at least 1.

And they will otherwise be matching GGG up with other good fighters outside of that like he has been basically his whole career...and if/when he wins those, people will say those guys ****** and find someone else to pin their hopes on to beat him.

Last 6 fights are Canelo Canelo SD Vanes Rolls and Jacobs...how can anyone hate on that level of opposition

I think GGG would be a solid favorite...but Charlo's strengths would matchup well with GGG's weaknesses...with GGG getting older etc Charlo would have the proverbial puncher's chance

Instead of rematching Jacobs, or fighting one of the other MW champs, he makes a deal to fight Derev, who is seen as the "easiest" of the 4 possible opponents-Charlo, Jacobs, Andrade and Derev.

Just be secure that every thing called a duck isn't such. Most people think the GGG/Derevychanko fight is a good solid fight.
Jacobs has moved up to 168 and has never showed any sign of wanting to fight GGG again anyway.

Lol at you calling Charlo a possible opponent for Golovkin!

The truth is that whichever one of those 4 GGG made a deal to fight would have been seen as the "easiest" by guys like you. That's the way it works.

If not Canelo, then Dereyvanchenko is very obviously the best option for now, for many reasons, one of them being entertainment value.

I am critical of GGG not due to hate, but due to him and his team contradicting themselves at every turn when they talk crazy. From the andre ward fight not happening excuses to criticising canelo for fighting khan (but he decided to fight brook in the same year instead) to being the mexican style culture vulture to the abandoning of getting all belts narrative due to clout chasing canelo. He just needs a better PR team so that he doesn't look like a walking contradiction every time he speaks. This is the same guy who says that he wants to be a promoter after his career is over, and he can't even talk for ****.

I think it is fair to point out some things you mentioned...I just think in even those things you said, there is quite a bit of nuance there.

Tbh I don't really know how anyone can honestly try and say GGG 'ducked' Ward..I never really understood that narrative or how that even started...just kind of came out of nowhere imo...the timing, weight class difference, injuries/issues Ward had etc...I mean from what I've gathered I think Ward comes out looking worse there than GGG...just my opinion.

Brook and Khan is a good point...but Brook was a late replacement to save the date after Eubank fell through...it wasn't like he specifically picked him...Brook was a last chance and Khan was a first option.

Mexican style was pandering in a way but he did have a Mexican trainer who pushed that angle as much as GGG did.

And yes he did tout the belts and promoted himself that way...it was smart and I think at the time genuine...but it's just smart as well to abandon that philosophy to take the huge pay day, especially when you are at the end of your career and the one time payday is worth more than you've made in your entire career.

Promoter wise he probably wants to help the guys from his part of the world navigate the industry...he obviously would need to improve his English a bit to be a big time promoter...but I think the Klitscho bros are promoters as well and have similar language issues...GGG as a promoter is probably him knowing he can attract good talent with his name, and he can provide some value to the talent and also make some money.
